Özet

This study aims to investigate the direct and indirect effects of digital addictions, social connectedness and life satisfaction on academic resilience among high school students. The study's sample group consisted of 553 high school students. The Internet Addiction, Social Media Use Disorder, Digital Game Addiction, Smartphone Use, Social Connectedness, Life Satisfaction and Academic Resilience scales were used to collect data. In addition to descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and path analysis were used in data analysis. The main finding of the study is that digital addictions have a negative and statistically significant effect on social connectedness and academic resilience. The direct effect of digital addictions on life satisfaction was not statistically significant. Our results have revealed that social connectedness has a positive and significant effect on life satisfaction and academic resilience and that life satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on academic resilience. In the light of the results of the study, it is recommended to encourage balanced and controlled use of digital communication tools by considering the balance of addiction and need, and to increase the awareness of educators, students and parents about the balance of benefits and harms.
