Göçmen ve Sığınmacıların Transit Bölge Konumundaki Çanakkale’de Çevresel Yaşam Koşullarının Araştırılması

| dc.description.abstract | Özellikle 2011 yılında Suriye’de ortaya çıkan iç karışıklıklar Türkiye’ye kitleler halinde göç edilmesine neden olmuştur. Avrupa’ya gitmek isteyen göçmen ve sığınmacılar tarafından Avrupa topraklarına en yakın noktada ve Türkiye’nin en batısında yer alan Çanakkale ili seçilmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı; göçmen ve sığınmacıların mevcut çevresel koşullarının temel halk sağlığı açısından Çanakkale’de belirlenmesidir. Çalışmaya gönüllü olarak Nisan - Mayıs 2019 döneminde katılan 253 göçmen ve sığınmacının mevcut konut içi, konut dışı, çevresel ve sağlık durumları dikkate alınmıştır. Çalışmanın sonuçlarına göre, katılımcıların % 32,4’ünün evinde küf, rutubet veya su sızıntısı gözlediği; % 8,3’ünün evinin içerisinde tuvalet olmadığı; % 26,5’inin yemek yapılan mekânı aynı zamanda yatak odası olarak kullandığı; % 56,9’unun evinde musluktan temiz/içilebilir suya ulaşamadığı; % 4,3’ünün doktor tarafından tanısı konulmuş rahatsızlığının olduğu; % 28,1’inin sigara içtiği; % 17’sinin sağlık kuruluşlarına hiç gitmediği ve % 11,1’inin mevcut yaşam koşulundan bazı şikayetleri olduğu belirlenmiştir. Çalışma kapsamında dikkate alınan bazı çevresel koşulların veya sağlık koşullarının katılımcıların cinsiyet ve/veya korunma statüsüne göre değişim gösterdiği de belirlenmiştir (p < 0,05). Bu çalışmada, uluslararası korunma statüsündeki katılımcıların geçici korunma statüsündekilerden daha iyi şartlarda yaşamını devam ettirdiği saptanmıştır. Göçmen ve sığınmacıların konut içi ve konut dışı koşullarının iyileştirilmesi için sosyal ve ekonomik hayata katılmalarını sağlayacak önlemlerin alınması gerekmektedir. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Especially following the internal turmoil occurred in Syria in 2011 resulted in mass migration to Turkey. Çanakkale, which is located at the closest point to the European lands, is chosen by the immigrants and asylum seekers who want to go to Europe. The aim of this study is to determine the current environmental conditions of immigrants and asylum seekers in Çanakkale in terms of principal public health. The current indoor, outdoor, environmental and health conditions of 253 immigrants and asylum seekers who voluntarily participated in the study on April-May 2019 were considered. It was found in this study that 32.4% of the participants observed mold/moisture/water leakage in their home; 8.3% of them did not have a toilet in their house; 26.5% of them used the dining room as a bedroom at the same time; 56.9% of them could not reach clean water from the tap; 4.3% of them had a disease diagnosed by a doctor; 28.1% smoked; 17% of them had never been to health institutions and 11.1% of them had complaints about their current living conditions. It was also estimated that some environmental or health conditions considered in the study varied according to gender and/or protection status (p<0.05). It has been determined that the participants in the international protection status have better living conditions than those in the temporary protection status. In order to improve the residential and non-residential conditions of immigrants and asylum seekers, measures should be taken to enable them to participate in social and economic life. | |
