Otel İşletmelerinin Yeni Nesil Afet Olarak Covid-19 Pandemisine ve Genel Afetlere Karşı Direnç Düzeyi: Trakya Bölgesi Otel Yöneticileri Üzerine Uygulama

dc.description.abstractOteller sabit taşınmazlar olduğundan afetlere karşı sürekli açık bir tehdit altındadırlar. Ayrıca turistlerin afetten etkilenen bölgelerden uzak durmak istemeleri de turizm sektörüne ekonomik açıdan zarar vermektedir. Bu nedenle özellikle afet riski yüksek bölgelerde bulunan oteller afet direnç düzeylerini yükseltmelidirler. Bu bağlamda, çalışmanın temel amacı Trakya Bölgesinde (Çanakkale, Edirne, Kırklareli ve Tekirdağ) faaliyet gösteren Bakanlık belgeli üç, dört ve beş yıldızlı otellerin genel afet direncinin yanı sıra güncel bir sorun olan Covid-19 Pandemisine karşı direnç düzeyini belirlemektir. Belirlenen sınırlamalar doğrultusunda Trakya Bölgesinde faaliyet gösteren 81 adet otel araştırma evreni olarak belirlenmiştir. Çalışma kapsamında çevrimiçi veya yüz yüze olmak üzere ulaşılan 81 otel yöneticisinden 62 otel yöneticisi ankete katılmıştır. Katılımcılardan Brown vd.’nin, (2019) geliştirdiği afet direnç ölçeğine ek olarak Covid-19 salgının otel işletmelerine etkilerini belirlemeye yönelik sorular yöneltilmiştir. Elde edilen verilerin istatistiksel analizlerinde t-testleri ve ANOVA kullanılmıştır. Otellerin afetlere karşı direnç düzeyi ile Covid-19 Pandemisine karşı direnç düzeyi ölçülen çalışma sonucunda; otelin büyüklüğü ve kategorisi, konaklama sektöründe çalışma süresi ve yöneticilik deneyimi otellerin afetlere karşı direnç düzeyini olumlu yönde etkilediği görülmüştür.
dc.description.abstractSince hotels are fixed immovable properties, they are constantly under threat from disasters. In addition, tourists' desire to stay away from disaster-affected areas also causes economic harm to the tourism sector. For this reason, hotels especially located in areas with high disaster risk should increase their disaster resistance levels. In this context, the main purpose of the study is to determine the general disaster resistance of Ministry-certified three, four and five-star hotels operating in the Thrace Region (Çanakkale, Edirne, Kırklareli and Tekirdağ), as well as the level of resistance to the Covid-19 Pandemic, which is a current problem. In line with the determined limitations, 81 hotels operating in the Thrace Region were determined as the research population. Within the scope of the study, 62 hotel managers out of 81 hotel managers reached online or face to face participated in our survey. In addition to the disaster resilience scale developed by Brown et al. (2019), participants were asked questions to determine the effects of the Covid-19 epidemic on hotel businesses. T-tests and ANOVA were used in the statistical analysis of the data obtained. As a result of the study measuring the resistance level of hotels against disasters and the resistance level against the Covid-19 Pandemic; It has been observed that the size and category of the hotel, working time in the accommodation sector and managerial experience positively affect the level of resilience of hotels to disasters.
