dc.description.abstractThe objective of this study is to develop a Sexual Health Literacy Scale with the purpose of evaluating individual levels of sexual health literacy.The scale items were constructed through an extensive literature review and expert evaluation.An online survey was conducted in which 333 participants rated 33 items on a 5-point Likert scale.An exploratory factor analysis was performed to establish the initial structure of the scale, followed by a confirmatory factor analysis to test the model's fit. The results of the study identified four factors with high reliability: evaluating sexual health information, using and applying sexual health information, contacting an organisation about sexual health, and understanding sexual health information.The confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the model's good fit, thus validating the Sexual Health Literacy Scale as a statistically and theoretically sound tool for measuring individual sexual health literacy levels.Further testing is needed to evaluate the validity and reliability of the scale and to determine the appropriateness of its use in other populations.
