Özet
Günümüzde teknolojinin gelişmesiyle birlikte yeni okuryazarlık türlerinin ortaya çıktığı görülmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı; Türkçe öğretmeni adaylarının görsel okuryazarlık konusundaki düşüncelerini değerlendirmektir. Araştırmanın örneklemini Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart Üniversitesi Türkçe öğretmenliği bölümünde 2012-2013 Güz ve Bahar döneminde okuyan 4. sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı görüşmedir. 6 öğretmen adayıyla görüşülmüştür. Araştırma deseni “örnek olay”dır. Görüşmeler ses kayıt cihazına kaydedilmiş ve değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre; öğretmen adayları görsel okuryazarlık becerisinin eğitimi konusunda eksiklerin olduğu görüşündedirler. Görsel okuryazarlığın eğitimi çevremizdeki görsellerden doğru mesajları anlamamız için önemlidir.
In Modern-days, a new type of literacy come into the view along with the developing technology. Visual literacy has received much attention and importance in the literature. The purpose of this research is to evaluate student opinions about visual literacy. The study was carried out with fourth-year students attending the Department of Turkish Language Teaching at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University in the Fall and Spring Semesters of 2012-2013 academic year. The research follow the qualitative research paradigm and the data was collected via semi-structured one-on-one interviews with 6 pre-service Turkish teachers. Case study design was employed in the current study. Interviews recorded, transcribed, and analyzed using a qualitative data analysis program. The results of the study revealed those of pre-service Turkish teachers’ opinions; availability of visual literacy education has deficiencies. Education of visual literacy is important for understanding of true meaning of messages in visual elements.
