Some of the surveys we conducted in the region were carried out at and around the port of Ustunlu. The place concerned is known as the site of a monastery. It is a protected, natural port. The densest assemblage in the area comprises unglazed pottery. Some of the pottery appears to be completely preserved in the soil section. However, a lot of pottery has been carried towards the sandy beach and into the sea as a result of the destruction of the wall on the coast by the sea. The types of vessels which could be determined include cooking pots, stands and braziers which served for cooking and serving. This study will focus on the stands.
