dc.description.abstractGünümüz yaşam koşullarında üniversiteyi bitiren gençlerin iş tecrübesi olmadan sektörde kendilerine iş bulmaları hayli zor olmaktadır. Bundan dolayı turizm gibi hizmet sektörlerinde mezuniyet öncesi sektöre hazırlık önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. Üniversitelerde öğrencileri mezuniyetleri sonrasında sektöre mümkün olduğunca hazır hale getirmek için yapılan önemli faaliyetlerden biri de kariyer etkinlikleri olmaktadır. Bu etkinlikler de öğrencilerin sektör temsilcileriyle buluşmaları sağlanmaktadır. Çalışmanın amacı, Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart Üniversitesi Turizm Fakültesi’nin kariyer etkinliğine katılan turizm sektör temsilcilerinin ve turizm öğrencilerinin karşılıklı beklentilerinin tespit edilmesidir. Çalışmanın evrenini kariyer etkinliğine katılan 64 işletme ve fakültede öğrenim gören öğrenciler oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma kapsamında amaçlı örnekleme yapılarak demografik ve açık uçlu sorulardan oluşan bir form kullanılarak 25 işletme ile e-posta üzerinden yazılı olarak, 29 öğrenci ile yüz yüze görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Görüşme formları içerik analizine tabi tutularak raporlanmıştır. Çalışmanın sonucunda, etkinliğe katılan işletmelerin nitelikli personel bulma ve kendilerini tanıtma beklentileri ön plana çıkmaktadır. Öğrencilerin ise kariyer hedeflerine uygun nitelikli işletme bulma ve işletmeleri tanıma beklentileri ön plana çıkmıştır. Bunun yanında işletmeler öğrencilerin yeterli katılım göstermediğini belirtirken; öğrenciler ise daha fazla işletmenin katılım göstermesini istemişlerdir. Hem işletmeler hem de öğrenciler kariyer etkinliğinin birkaç güne daha yayılması konusunda ortak görüş belirtmişlerdir.
dc.description.abstractIn today's living conditions, it is quite challenging for young people who have graduated from university to find a job in the sector without any work experience. Therefore, pre-graduation preparation for the sector holds significant importance in service industries such as tourism. One of the key activities undertaken at universities to prepare students for the sector as much as possible after graduation is career events. These events enable students to meet with industry representatives. The aim of this study is to identify the mutual expectations of tourism sector representatives and tourism students who participated in the career event of the Tourism Faculty of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University. The population of the study consists of 64 businesses that participated in the career event and students studying at the faculty. Within the scope of the study, purposive sampling was conducted, and a form consisting of demographic and open-ended questions was used to conduct written interviews via email with 25 businesses and face-to-face interviews with 29 students. The interview forms were subjected to content analysis and reported. As a result of the study, the expectations of businesses participating in the event to find qualified personnel and to promote themselves came to the forefront. On the other hand, the students' expectations to find qualified businesses that align with their career goals and to get to know these businesses were highlighted. Additionally, while businesses noted insufficient student participation, students expressed a desire for more businesses to participate. Both businesses and students agreed that the career event should be extended over a few more days.
