Özet
Edatlar kendi başlarına herhangi bir anlam ifade etmeyen, cümle içerisinde anlam yüklenen unsurlardır. İsim ve filleri birbirine bağlama işlevi görürler. Edatlar konuşan kişinin farklı anlamlar oluşturmak için başvurduğu araçtır. Kendisinden sonra gelen sözcükleri etkilerler. Yani o sözcükler üzerinde amil olurlar. Klasik nahiv kitaplarında isim ve fiilden sonra zikredilen harf bölümünde geniş bir şekilde ele alınırlar. Bu edatlardan Arap dilinde kullanımı geniş olanlardan birisi de “vâv” harfidir. Bu çalışmada “vâv” edatının/harfinin Arap dilindeki işlevine dikkat çekilmiştir.
Prepositions are elements that do not make any sense in themselves and are loaded in a sentence. Prepositions servet o link nouns and verbs. Prepositions are tools that a person uses to create differrent meanings. Prepositions affect words after it. Prepositions have effects on that words. İn classical nahiv (syntax) books, prepositions are discussed in the letter section mentioned after the noun and verb. One of these prepositions is widely used “vav” letter. In this study, the function of the prepositions/letter “vav” ın Arabic language is emphasized.
