Sağ popülizmin Avrupa Birliği içerisindeki yükselişinin kültür odaklı incelenmesi: İtalyan Lig Partisi ve Beş Yıldız Hareketi örnekleri

Tez çalışması, son yıllarda küresel siyasette adı sıklıkla duyulan popülizm kavramından yola çıkmış, çalışmada bu kavramın Avrupa siyasetine, kültürüne ve Avrupa Birliği (AB) değerlerine olası etkilerini incelemiştir. Çalışmada kuramsal altyapı olarak popülizm ve sağ popülizm üzerinde yoğunlaşılmıştır. Bu kavramların siyasi zeminde yer bulmalarının kültürel sebepleri incelenmiştir. Kültür, popülist partiler ve liderler tarafından sıklıkla kullanılan bir kavramdır. Bu kavramın siyasi zeminde toplumlarda bulduğu karşılık anlaşılmaya çalışılmıştır. Çalışma, AB ile sınırlandırılmış, Topluluk içerisindeki popülist partilerin başarı grafikleri incelenmiştir. Vaka çalışması için İtalya'nın önde gelen iki popülist partisi Lig ve 5 Yıldız Hareketi seçilmiştir. İtalya'nın özgün siyasi ve toplumsal koşulları ile popülist partilerin bu ülkede oldukça güçlü olmaları, popülizmin kültürel vurgularını anlamak adına bize uygun bir zemin sunmaktadır. Tez çalışmasında, İtalya'da sağ popülist liderler tarafından araç olarak kullanılan kültür kavramının ilgili partilerin yükselişinde etkili olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Sağ popülist partilerin söylemleri ve eylemlerinin, AB değerlerine etkileri çalışmanın sonuç bölümünde değerlendirilmiş, gelecekte Topluluğu beklemesi muhtemel durumlar tartışılmıştır.

In this master thesis, the concept of populism, which has become popular in global politics in recent years, has been analyzed and the possible effects of this concept on European politics, culture and European Union values has been examined. The focus of the study is on populism and right-wing populism as theoretical background. The cultural reasons for these concepts to find their place in the political arena is the main question of this research. Culture is a concept that frequently used by populist parties and leaders. It has been attempted to understand the response that this concept finds in societies on the political ground. The study was limited with the European Union and the success charts of populist parties in the Union were analyzed. Two leading populist parties in Italy, League and 5 Star Movement, were selected for the case study. The unique political and social conditions of Italy and the strong power of populist parties in this country provide us with a suitable ground for understanding the cultural emphasis of populism. In the thesis study, it was determined that the concept of culture used as a tool by right-wing populist leaders in Italy was effective in the rise of the relevant parties. The effects of the discourses and actions of the right-wing populist parties on the European Union values were evaluated in the conclusion part of the study and the possible situations that the Union could expect in the future were discussed.
