dc.description.abstractİnsanlığın var oluşundan bu yana salgın hastalıklar ekonomik, sosyal ve çevresel sorunlara neden olmuştur. 21. Yüzyıl ile birlikte oldukça sık karşılaşılmaya başlanan salgınlar ile başa çıkılmakta oldukça zorlanır hale gelinmiştir. 2019 yılının son günlerinde Çin'de ortaya çıkan ve Dünya Sağlık Örgütü tarafından yeni tip koronavirüs olarak tanımlanan salgın, dünya ekonomisini şiddetli bir şekilde sarsmış ve insan hareketliliğini büyük oranda azaltmıştır. Turizm sektörü tamamiyle insan hareketliliğine sahip bir yapıda olduğundan Covid-19 Pandemisinden oldukça fazla etkilenmiştir. Oteller sabit taşınmazlar olduğundan afetlere karşı sürekli açık bir tehdit altındadır. Bunun yanı sıra turistlerin meydana gelmiş bir afetten etkilenen bölgelerden uzak durmak istemesi nedeniyle turizm sektörü ekonomik açıdan zarar görmektedir. Bu nedenle özellikle afetlere maruz kalma ihtimali yüksek bölgelerde bulunan oteller afet direnç düzeylerini yüksekletmelidirler. Bu çalışma Trakya Bölgesinde (Çanakkale, Edirne, Kırklareli ve Tekirdağ) faaliyet gösteren üç, dört ve beş yıldızlı 81 otelin yöneticilerinin gönüllü katılımı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmamız 62 otel yöneticisinin anket yanıtlarına dayanmaktadır. Çalışma Brown vd., (2019)'lerinin geliştirdiği afet direnç ölçeğine ek olarak Covid-19 Pandemisinin etkisini ölçmek için geliştirdiğimiz sorulardan oluşmaktadır. Otellerin afetlere karşı direnç düzeyi ile Covid-19 Pandemisine karşı direnç düzeyini ölçmeyi hedeflediğimiz çalışmada; otelin büyüklüğü ve kategorisinin, konaklama sektöründe çalışma süresinin ve yöneticilik deneyiminin otellerin afetlere karşı direnç düzeyi üzerinde olumlu bir etkisi olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
dc.description.abstractEpidemics have caused economic, social and environmental problems since the existence of humanity. With the 21st century, it has become very difficult to cope with the epidemics, which have started to be encountered quite frequently. The epidemic, which emerged in China in the last days of 2019 and defined as a new type of coronavirus by the World Health Organization, severely shook the world economy and greatly reduced human mobility. Since the tourism sector has a structure with full human mobility, it has been greatly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Because of the fact that hotels are immovable properties, they are often under constant threat from disasters. In addition, the tourism sector suffers economically because tourists want to stay away from the areas affected by a disaster. For this reason, hotels located in regions that are likely to be exposed to disasters should increase their disaster resilience levels. This study was carried out with the voluntary participation of the managers of 81 hotels with 3, 4 and 5 stars operating in the Thrace Region (Çanakkale, Edirne, Kırklareli and Tekirdağ). Our study is based on the survey responses of 62 hotel managers. The study consists of questions that we developed to measure the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, in addition to the disaster resilience scale developed by Brown and friends(2019). In the study where we aimed to measure the resistance level of hotels against disasters and the level of resistance against the Covid-19 pandemic; It has been determined that the size and category of the hotel, working time in the accommodation sector and managerial experience have a positive effect on the resilience level of hotels.
