Çağdaş Türk Resim Sanatında melankolik yansımalar

Günümüz toplumunda, sanatçılar ve sanat eserleri üzerinde yaygın şekilde etkisi gözlemlenen melankoli kavramı tarih boyunca delilik, dahilik, hastalık, mizaç ve ruhsal durum gibi kelimelerle anılmıştır. Bu çalışmada melankoli kavramının Antik Çağ'dan modern zamanlara kadar değişen anlam perspektifi tıp, psikoloji ve felsefe alanlarındaki bilgiler ışığında incelenerek melankolinin genel tarihi üzerinde durulmuştur. Geçen zamanda insan yaşamında meydana gelen buluşlar kentlerde yaşayan kendi içine çekilmiş melankolik karakter ve tipleri meydana getirmiştir. Bu bağlamda modern dünyada oluşan yalnız melankolik portresi, sanatın ve hayatın farklı noktalarında yer alan Don Quijote, piyero ve Flâneur karakterleri üzerinden ele alınarak incelenmiştir. Olumlu ve olumsuz nitelikleri bünyesinde barındıran kavramın romantik dönem sonrası psikolojide çoğunlukla depresyon ve onun niteledikleriyle birlikte ele alındığı gözlemlenmiştir. Öte yandan melankolinin deha, hayal gücü ve yaratıcılıkla ilişkisi sorgulanarak kavramın çift kutuplu yapısı ve anlam çerçevesi resim sanatındaki eserler üzerinden araştırılmıştır. Melankolinin Batı ve Türk resim sanatına etkileri incelenmiş ve bu bağlamda resim çözümlemeleri yapılmıştır. Bu tezde Antik Çağ'dan beri deha ve delilik arasında anlam değişimlerine uğrayan melankoli kavramının konu ve biçim bağlamında sanatla ifadesi doğrultusunda meydana gelen bağı incelemek ve kavramın Çağdaş Türk resim sanatındaki biçimsel yansımalarının yarattığı değişimi irdelemek amaçlanmıştır.

The concept of melancholia, which has a widespread influence on artists and works of art today, has been referred to with words such as madness, genius, disease, temperament and mental state throughout history. This study focuses on the general history of melancholia by investigating the changing meaning perspective of the concept of melancholia from antiquity to modern times by researching information in the fields of medicine, psychology and philosophy. The inventions in human life have created melancholic characters and types living in cities and withdrawn into themselves. In this context, the lonely melancholic portrait formed in the modern world is analyzed through the characters of Don Quijote, Piyero and Flâneur. It has been observed that the concept, which has positive and negative qualities, has been handled together with depression and its qualifications in post-romantic psychology. On the other hand, by questioning the relationship between melancholy and genius, imagination and creativity, the bipolar structure and meaning of the concept were investigated through works in the art of painting. The effects of melancholy on Western and Turkish painting have been analyzed. In this thesis, it is aimed to examine the connection between the concept of melancholia, which has undergone changes in meaning between genius and madness since Antiquity, in the context of subject and form in line with its expression with art, and to examine the change created by the formal reflections of the concept in Contemporary Turkish painting.
