Investigation of Studies on Spiritual Care and Practices in the Postpartum Period in Turkey: A Systematic Review

dc.description.abstractObjective: The aim of this study is to examine the studies on spiritual care and practices in the postpartum period in Turkiye. Material and Method: In this study, which is a systematic review, the data were collected in the databases of “PubMed, Cochrane, EBSCOhost, Web of Science, ULAKBİM, Clinical Key, Science Direct, Google Scholar, DergiPark”, published in Turkish and English between 2011-2021, conducted in Turkey. It was obtained by retrospective review of cross-sectional, qualitative, experimental and quasi-experimental studies. As a result of the screening, 33 studies meeting the determined criteria were included in the study. Results: In researches, postnatal spiritual care and practices are widely applied in Turkiye, these spiritual practices, which have an important place in postpartum care, are quite diverse, and these care and practices are mostly; flushing (9 studies) and it was determined that it was applied to prevent the baby from getting jaundice (20 studies), to protect from the evil eye (13 studies), and about care and applications for the baby's feeding (8 studies), navel (7 studies) and the 40th day after birth (19 studies). Conclusion: Besides postpartum spiritual care and practices in Turkiye vary regionally, it has been concluded that it is widely practiced in general, the spiritual practices performed in postpartum care are quite diverse, and quality and important data are presented in the relevant literature
dc.description.abstractAmaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı; Türkiye’de doğum sonu dönemde spiritüel bakım ve uygulamalara yönelik yapılan araştırmaların incelenmesidir. Gereç ve Yöntem: Sistematik derleme niteliğindeki bu çalışmada veriler, “PubMed, Cochrane, EBSCOhost, Web of Science, ULAKBİM, Clinical Key, Science Direct, Google Scholar, DergiPark” veri tabanlarında, 2011-2021 yılları arasında, Türkçe ve İngilizce olarak yayınlanan, Türkiye’de yapılan, kesitsel, kalitatif, deneysel ve yarı deneysel araştırmaların geriye dönük taraması yapılarak elde edilmiştir. Tarama sonucunda, belirlenen kriterleri karşılayan 33 araştırma çalışmaya dâhil edilmiştir. Bulgular: Araştırmalarda Türkiye’de doğum sonrası spiritüel bakım ve uygulamaların yaygın bir şekilde uygulandığı, doğum sonu bakımda önemli yeri olan bu spiritüel uygulamaların, oldukça çeşitli olduğu ve bu bakım ve uygulamaların en çok; al basmasını (9 çalışma) ve bebeğin sarılık olmasını önlemek için (20 çalışma), nazardan korunmak için (13 çalışma) uygulandığı, bebeğin beslenmesine (8 çalışma), göbeğine (7 çalışma) ve doğum sonu 40. güne yönelik yapılan bakım ve uygulamalar (19 çalışma) olduğu saptanmıştır. Sonuç: Türkiye’de doğum sonrası spiritüel bakım ve uygulamalar bölgesel olarak farklılıklar göstermekle birlikte genel olarak yaygın bir şekilde uygulandığı, doğum sonu bakımda gerçekleştirilen spiritüel uygulamaların oldukça çeşitli olduğu, konu ile ilgili literatürde kaliteli ve önemli verilerin ortaya konulduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
