THE EFFECTS OF PARENTS, STUDENTS AND COLLEAGUES ON THE PERFORMANCE OF THE PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS

A positive organizational climate in schools can be seen as a basic condition for teachers to develop themselves as much as possible. The school climate is mainly composed of teachers, students, parents, school management and related institutions. All these stakeholders can affect the performance of the teachers positively or negatively. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate the effects of parents, students and colleagues in the performance of class and branch teachers whom work in state and private schools affiliated to MEB in İstanbul. The research was a quantitative study and so a segment screening model was used. The universe of this research consists of teachers working in primary schools in MEB, İstanbul. The sample consists of 212 classes and branch teachers working in 25 different primary schools in the state and private schools in the academic year of 2018-2019. “The parent approach scale factor structure”, “The undesirable student behavior scale in primary schools” and “The school climate scale” were analyzed by the SPSS 20.0 package program. Öğretmenlerin kendilerini olabildiğince geliştirebilmesi için okullarda olumlu bir örgütsel iklimin oluşması temel şart olarak görülebilmektedir. Okul iklimini ise başta öğretmenler, öğrenciler, veliler, okul yönetimi ve ilgili kurumlar oluşturmaktadır. Tüm bu paydaşlar öğretmenlerin performansını olumlu veya olumsuz yönde etkileyebilmektedir. Bu araştırmanın amacı, İstanbul ilindeki Millî Eğitim Bakanlığı’na bağlı devlet ve özel okullarda görev yapan sınıf ve branş öğretmenlerinin performansında veli, öğrenci ve meslektaşlarının etkilerini incelemektir. Araştırma nicel bir araştırma olup, kesitsel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Bu araştırmanın evrenini İstanbul ilinde, Millî Eğitim Bakanlığı’na bağlı ilkokullarda görev yapan öğretmenler oluşturmaktadır. Örneklem ise 2018-2019 eğitim öğretim yılında il merkezindeki devlet ve özel 25 farklı ilkokulda görev yapan toplam 212 sınıf ve branş öğretmeninden oluşmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak kullanılan ölçeklerden elde edilen sonuçlara göre “Veli Yaklaşım Ölçeği Faktör Yapısı”, “İlköğretim Okullarında İstenmeyen Öğrenci Davranışları Ölçeği” ve “Okul İklimi Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Ölçeklerin uygulanması sonucunda elde edilen veriler bilgisayar ortamında kodlanarak SPSS 20.0 paket programı aracılığıyla analiz edilmiştir. Ölçeklerde yer alan sorulara verilen yanıtların dağılımı frekans analizi ve t testi ile incelenmiştir.
