dc.description.abstractMedia literacy, which develops individuals'\rskills of \"seeing the facts differently\", points to one of the\reducational tools that are considered effective in the\rtreatment processes of social diseases like violence,\rsexism, racism, etc. In this study, it is aimed to examine\rthe opinions of local media editorial directors on the\rrelationship between the concept of active citizenship and\rmedia literacy education from different angles. Case study\rapproach was used in the study. The semi-structured\rinterview form developed by the researcher was used as\rthe data collection tool. Maximum diversity sampling\rtechnique, one of the purposeful sampling techniques, was\rused in the study. Local media editors in the sample was\rchosen from the local radio, television and newspaper\rsectors. Within the scope of the study, it is concluded that\rmedia literacy can be an effective tool for active\rcitizenship in line with the opinions of media broadcast\rmanagers
