Özet

Venomous marine animals can be dangerous to swimmers, divers, and fishers. Most marine envenomations are not severe, and victims may delay seeking emergency care. These mild envenomations include weever fish, lionfish, starfish, and coral abrasions. Also, severe envenomation from stonefish, stingray, blue-ringed octopus, cone snail, and box jellyfish (Irukandji) can be life-threatening. Rapid treatment in these cases can increase survival rates and minimize systemic (anaphylaxis) and local complications (allergic response, infections, pain) by venoms. © 2022 by Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
