dc.description.abstractBu yüksek Lisans tez çalışması antik Yunan düşüncesinde Troas bölgesinin oynadığı rolü değerlendirmeyi amaçlar. Antik Yunan Çağının Arkaik döneminde Sokrates Öncesi Düşünürler olarak adlandırılan düşünürler gurubu içinde kabul edilen İonyalı Düşünürler özellikle Batı Anadolu'nun İonya bölgesinde ön plana çıkar. İonya dışında Arkaik Çağda yine Güney İtalya coğrafyasının Yunan düşüncesinde önemli yer tuttuğu bilinmektedir. Klasik ve Hellenistik dönemlerde ise Atina'nın antik Yunan düşüncesinde ön plana çıktığı görülmektedir. Bütün bu gelişmeler içinde antik Troas bölgesinin de Arkaik, Klasik ve Helenistik dönemlerde önemli yerli bilgin ve düşünürleri yetiştirdiği gibi Atina ve benzeri diğer kentlerden Troas bölgesine düşünce üretmek üzere geldiklerine tanık olmaktayız. Bu bağlamda bu tez çalışmasının ana amaçlarından biri Troas bölgesinin önemli kentleri arasında yer alan Lampsakos, Assos, Tenedos ve Skepsis gibi kentlerde doğup yetişen veya bu kentlerden bazılarına dışarıdan gelip düşünce okulları kuran bilgin ve düşünürleri ve eserlerini tanıtmaktır. Bu yüksek tezinin ikinci amacı da Troaslı olmayan düşünürlerin neden söz konusu bu Troas kentlerinine gelipte düşünce üretmeyi seçtikleri konusunu irdelemektir. Troas kentleri arasında özellikle Lampsakos antik kentinin antik Yunan bilim ve felsefesinde hem bilgin ve düşünür yetiştiren hem de bölgeli olmayan bilgin ve düşünürler için cazip olan önemli bir okul olduğu görülmektedir.
dc.description.abstractThis master?s thesis aims to examine the role of the ancient region of the Troad in western Asia Minor within the ancient Greek philosophy and science. In Archaic Greece, Ionian Thinkers considered among the Pre-Socratic thinkers became famous in the region of Ionia in western Asia Minor. Besides Ionia, it is well established that southern Italy was also important within the ancient Greek though in the Archaic period. However, Athens emerged as an important center of philosophy and science in the Classical and Hellenistic periods. The Troad is one of those regions where native thinkers contributed much to the ancient Greek philosophy and science. In addition, it is evidenced that the Troad attracted numerous thinkers foreign to the cities of the Troad, including Athens. The Troadic cities such as Lampsacus, Assos, Tenedos and Scepsis were among the places where both native and visiting thinkers contributed to the ancient Greel thought in the Archaic, Classical and Hellensitic periods. In this context, the main aim of this thesis is to introduce the native Troadic and visiting thinkers and their works lived in the cities such as Lampsacus, Assos, Tenedos and Scepsis. The subsidiary aim of this thesis is to examine why foreign thinkers such as the Athenian ones came to the Troad to work on philosophy and science. There must have been some factors that attracted the Athenian thinkers to the cities of the Troad. Among the cities of the Troad, Lampsacus was probably the most important cities where both native thinkers and visiting thinkers played an important role in teh development of ancient Greek thought.
