Eleştirel pedagoji bağlamında Foucault'nun iktidar anlayışı

Bu araştırmanın amacı eğitim-iktidar ilişkilerini Foucault ve eleştirel pedagoji perspektifinden tahlil etmektir. Bu amaçla araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden literatür taraması yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Eleştirel pedagoji, eğitimin bir iktidar aygıtı olarak kullanılmasına, bilginin, bilmenin metalaştırılmasına eğitimin ezenlerin, iktidar sahiplerinin çıkarları için insanları şekillendirdiği bir aygıt olmasına karşı çıkmıştır. Eleştirel pedagoji mevcut eğitim sisteminin öğrencilerin üzerinde kurduğu hiyerarşik ilişkiyi, tahakkümü yıkmaya ve eğitimin bir özgürleşme süreci olması gerektiğini dile getirmiştir. Modern anlamda eğitimin ortaya çıkışı ulus devletlerin oluşma süreciyle paraleldir. Yeni oluşturulacak devletin ideolojisini, doktrinlerini insanlara dayatmanın en etkili yolu da eğitimdir. Bundan dolayı eğitim, iktidarların her zaman toplumu dönüştürmek için araç olarak gördüğü, tamamen kendi yönetmek istediği ve toplumu şekillendireceği bir aygıt olarak görülmüştür. Eğitim aracılığıyla insanlara belli düşünce ve düşünce kalıplarını dikte etmek, insanların neyi nasıl düşüneceğine dair sınırlar koymak, iktidarlar için modern eğitim tarihinde vazgeçilmez bir fırsat olmuştur. Eğitimin tüm paydaşlarını en çok etkileyen kurumlardan biri olan iktidar, eğitim ile olan ilişkisi açısından incelenmesi gereken bir olgudur. Eğitime dair tüm bileşen ve paydaşları belirleyen, eğitimin felsefesini, müfredatını ve işleyişini belirleyen iktidarlar eğitimi kendi çıkarlarına hizmet edecek şekilde tasarlamaktadır. Bu araştırmanın çıkış noktası da bilgi ve iktidar denince ilk akla gelen filozoflardan biri olan Foucault'nun iktidar anlayışı ile dayatmacı, tahakkümcü eğitim sistemine karşı ortaya çıkan, eğitimin toplum ve insan yararına hizmet etmesi gerektiğini savunan eleştirel pedagoji açısından eğitim ve iktidar ilişkisini analiz etmek, iktidarlar ve eğitim arasındaki ilişkileri ve bu ilişkilerin eğitim sürecine ve eğitim paydaşlarına dair etkilerini ortaya koymaktır.

He aim of this research is to analyze the relations between education and power from the perspective of Foucault and critical pedagogy. For this purpose, literature review method, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the research. Critical pedagogy opposed the use of education as an apparatus of power, the commodification of knowledge and knowing, and the use of education as an apparatus through which oppressors and power holders shape people for their interests. Critical pedagogy has expressed that education should be a process of emancipation, as it should be, to overthrow the hierarchical relationship and domination that the current education system has established over students. The emergence of education in the modern sense is parallel to the formation of nation states. Education is the most effective way to impose the ideology and doctrines of the new state on people. Therefore, education has always been a mechanism that the rulers have always wanted to use as a tool to transform society, completely under their own control, to shape it as they wish. Dictating certain thoughts and thought patterns to people through education, setting limits on what and how people think has been an indispensable opportunity for governments in the history of modern education. Power, which is one of the institutions that affect all stakeholders of education the most, is a phenomenon that needs to be analyzed in terms of its relationship with education. The powers that determine all components and stakeholders of education, the philosophy, curriculum and functioning of education design education to serve their own interests. The starting point of this research is to analyze the relationship between education and power from the perspective of Foucault's understanding of power, one of the first philosophers who comes to mind when it comes to knowledge and power, and critical pedagogy, which emerged against the imposing, dominationist education system and argues that education should serve the benefit of society and human beings, and to reveal the relations between powers and education and the effects of these relations on the educational process and educational stakeholders.
