A UNIVERSAL OVERLOOK TO 'PEACE' VALUE IN EARLY CHILDHOOD PERIOD I

One of the social values that can be attained to children during early childhood (0-8) is peace. It is necessary to concretize peace and present it as a tangible, valuable thing that is worth for learning and worth for struggling. The permanency and sustainability of peace depends on the peace environment that is designed by training. Training is the basic factor in order to decrease the effect of violence and its culture, and form a peace culture against violence.& nbsp; Starting from this point, this reserach has been planned from the idea that discussing peace theme, one of the values of humanity in preschool period, is as important as the other education degrees are. People working in preschool education field (teachers, administrators, academicians, non-governmental volunteers etc.) from various countries constitude the study group. An interview form consisting of 10 questions is developed by the researchers to determine the data level and implementations of the people related to personal, occupational and peace training in the data collecting stage. The implementation was carried out between 01 May 2005 - 30 July 2005. During the research data analysis, first the key words are determined by doing content analysis. In the continuation of the research, first the key words, and afterwards concepts and themes related to these will be developed by carrying out a more detailed content analysis. In Peace Training Program being prepared by researchers, key words that are determined by the foundings of the research are taken as a base.
