Özet
Dividing Çanakkale city in two in terms of topographic structure, the increase in flow rate of the Sarıçay periodically means that this canal can trigger different dynamics within the city including water sports, canal transportation, pedestrian and equine sports. At this point, the current state of the Sarıçay was found to be very inadequate in terms of landscape design. With this study, the aim is to provide model landscape planning in the context of canal sports for Çanakkale and the people of Çanakkale as a traditional strategy (event) in February-March-April, when the flow of the Sarıçay increases. It is possible that the electrical energy required within the scope of water sports can be obtained from wind or underwater turbines to be installed on the canal. However, the application of planting and building element design combinations within the scope of landscape design constitutes the basic strategy. For this purpose, each section is discussed for assessment from the Dardanelles to the İzmir road (urban section) and from here to Atikhisar Dam Lake (outside the urban area). Within the scope of examination and detection of natural/cultural plant assets and by progression along the path of regeneration, new landscape design approaches with cultural plantings and recreation and sporting targets were revealed. For the study area from Izmir road-Troya Avenue, a certain part of the Sancay is originally included in the channel design concept, with reinforced concrete canal, planting, recreational and sporting equipment designed in this context. With this design, a higher value gain will be achieved for Çanakkale and townspeople than from the current situation of Sarıçay based on the increase in landscape values. With this design model, Çanakkale city texture is expected to contribute to the economic, social and livable city phenomenon. © by PSP
