In a landscape study to be done, the designer should first know the user group who will use the space, create aesthetic spaces that will allow them to have a good time by taking into account the special needs of them. Today, depending on the changes in living conditions, mental crises such as stress, anxiety, and depression increase in people. One of the factors that will support improvement in the treatment process of these ailments is the specially designed light green areas. When designing these areas, landscape architects work with people from different disciplines such as doctors, architects, psychologists, and know the patients’ needs and requests, and shape their designs. In this study, topics such as the effects of landscaping areas designed for people undergoing psychological treatment on their recovery status during the treatment process, criteria of a good therapy garden, history of healing gardens were examined and a study investigating the effect of gardening therapy on patients was investigated. © Peter Lang GmbH Internationaler Verlag der Wissenschaften Berlin 2021 All rights reserved.
