Silifke'nin (Mersin) 'Genel Hayata Etkili Afet Bölgesi' ilan edilmesinin bölgeye etkisi

Bu çalışma, Mersin Orman Bölge Müdürlüğü'ne bağlı Silifke Orman İşletme Müdürlüğü ormanlarında 2021 yılında meydana gelen orman yangınlarını, bu yangınların dağılımını ve yangınlar üzerinde etkili olan ekolojik faktörleri incelemek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Ülkemizde Akdeniz ikliminin etkili olduğu ormanlık bölgelerde orman yangınları, tahribatın başlıca nedenlerinden biridir. Mersin ili, bu iklimin egemen olduğu bir bölge olup, büyük ölçüde orman yangınlarına karşı hassas olan kızılçam ormanlarıyla kaplıdır. Bu nedenle, her yıl çok sayıda orman yangını meydana gelmektedir. 2021 yazında Mersin ili Silifke ilçesinde yaşanan büyük orman yangınları bu çalışmanın merkezinde yer almaktadır. Bu çalışmada, "Genel Hayata Etkili Afet Bölgesi" ilan edilen iller arasında yer alan Mersin ilindeki Silifke ilçesinde meydana gelen yangınlar sonucunda, bölgenin genel hayata etkili afet bölgesi ilan edilmesinin başlıca sebepleri araştırılmış, bu konuda literatürde yapılan çalışmalara değinilmiştir. Ayrıca, bölgeye müdahale aşamasında gerçekleştirilen faaliyetler karşılaştırılmış, bu tür "Genel Hayata Etkili Afet Bölgesi" ilan edilme riski taşıyan bölgeler için önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

This study was carried out to examine the forest fires that occurred in 2021 in the forests of Silifke Forest Management Directorate affiliated to Mersin Regional Directorate of Forestry, the distribution of these fires and the ecological factors affecting the fires. Forest fires are one of the main causes of destruction in forested regions where the Mediterranean climate is effective in our country. Mersin province is a region dominated by this climate and is largely covered with red pine forests, which are susceptible to forest fires. Therefore, many forest fires occur every year. The large forest fires that occurred in the Silifke district of Mersin province in the summer of 2021 are at the center of this study. In this study, as a result of the fires that occurred in the Silifke district of Mersin province, which is among the provinces declared as a "Disaster Area Affecting General Life", the main reasons for declaring the region as a disaster area affecting general life were investigated and the studies carried out in the literature on this subject were mentioned. In addition, the activities carried out during the intervention phase to the region were compared, and recommendations were made for regions at risk of being declared as "Disaster Areas Affecting General Life".
