Özet
The present study was conducted in Kilya (Poyraz) Bay, Dardanelles between May 2002-May 2003. At the beginning of study, mortality rate was high (% 8.34) due to handling stress. Higher mortality rates encountered during summer were minimum in the winter. A significant correlation (R-2=0.90) was found between mussel growth and chlorophyll-a concentrations. Maximum growth rate were obtained when chlorophyll-a concentrations peaked in May and June, whereas growth rate were minimumin winter. Our results indicated that spats reached to market size (> 50 mm) in 12 months.
