dc.description.abstractBu çalışmada, Çanakkale'de dağılış gösteren toplam 20 Natrix natrix (küpeli su yılanı) bireyinde plazma biyokimyasına ait bazı parametreler (glikoz, kolestrol, trigliserit, ürik asit, total protein, kan üre-nitrojeni, kreatinin, üre) ve hematokrit değeri incelenmiştir. İncelenen parametreler cinsiyete, üreme dönemi öncesine ve üreme dönemine göre değerlendirilmişlerdir. Biyokimyasal parametrelerin değerlendirilmesi için gerekli kan, kaudal venden 5 ml çaplı şırınga ile yaklaşık 1 ml alınmıştır. Kan, içerisinde lityum heparin olan biyokimya tüplerinde aktarılmış ve santrifüj edilerek plazma kısmı ayrılmıştır. Elde edilen kandan Spektrofotometre sayesinde biyokimyasal parametrelere ait veriler belirlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak, hem dişi hem erkek bireyler incelendiğinde üreme döneminde üreme dönemi öncesine göre, hematokrit, glikoz ve kolesterol değerleri artış gösterirken, kan üre-nitrojeni ve üre değerleri sadece erkek bireylerde artmış, dişi bireylerde düşüş göstermiştir. Total protein değeri incelendiğinde, erkek bireylerde üreme dönemi öncesinde ve üreme döneminde herhangi bir değişiklik göstermezken, dişi bireylerde üreme döneminde artış tespit edilmiştir. Kreatinin değerinde ise dişi bireylerde üreme döneminde üreme dönemi öncesine göre artış yaşanırken, erkek bireylerde düşüş yaşandığı belirlenmiştir. dc.description.abstractIn this study, some parameters of plasma biochemistry (glucose, cholesterol, triglyceride, uric acid, total protein, blood urea-nitrogen (BUN), creatinine and urea) and the hematocrit value (PCV) were investigated in a total of 20 Natrix natrix (the grass snake) individuals distributed in Çanakkale and they were evaluated according to sex and the pre-breeding and breeding periods. For the biochemical parameters, 1 ml of blood was collected from the caudal vein by means of a 5-ml syringe. The blood was transferred into the biochemical tubes containing lithium heparin and centrifuged, and the plasma part was separated. Data about biochemical parameters were obtained from the collected blood thanks to a spectrophotometer. In conclusion, both the female and male individuals of the species showed an increase in hematocrit, glucose, and cholesterol values in the breeding period as compared with the pre-breeding period, whereas the values of urea-nitrogen and urea only increased in the male individuals but decreased in the female individuals. When the total protein value was examined, it showed no variation in the male individuals in the pre-breeding and breeding periods, while an increase in the total protein value was detected in the female individuals in the breeding period. On the other hand, the creatinine value was determined to have increased in the female individuals but fallen in the male individuals in the breeding period as compared with the pre-breeding period.
