dc.description.abstractSiyaset ve coğrafya arasında bağlantı kurma fikri oldukça geçmişe dayanmaktadır. Kökleri Antik Çağ'a kadar uzanan söz konusu bu ilişki öncelikle 14. yüzyıl düşünürü olan İbn Haldun ve sonrasında 18. yüzyılda yaşamış olan Montesquieu tarafından kapsamlı ve sistematik olarak ortaya konmuştur. Böylelikle siyaset teorisinde, siyaset ve coğrafya ilişkisi İbn Haldun ve Montesquieu'nün düşünceleri ve öne sürmüş olduğu argümanlar nezdinde değerlendirilmektedir. Siyaset ve coğrafya ilişkisi hem geçmişteki hem de günümüzdeki toplumsal, kültürel, siyasal ve ekonomik ilişkilerin kavranması için önemli gözükmektedir. Bu nedenle, toplumları bulundukları coğrafyanın etkilerinden ayrı düşünmek yanılgıları yol açabileceği gibi toplumların siyasetini meydana getiren faktörleri de coğrafyalarından bağımsız olarak ele almak mümkün değildir. Dolayısıyla coğrafi faktörlerin, toplumların dünyayı kavrayış biçimleri ve siyasetleri üzerindeki tesirini analiz ederken İbn Haldun'un ve Montesquieu'nün siyaset ve coğrafya ilişkisi hakkındaki fikirleri ele alınmıştır. Bu bağlamda bu tez çalışmasının konusunu oluşturan siyaset ve coğrafya ilişkisi incelenirken kuramsal çerçeve olarak bu iki düşünürün bu konu hakkındaki görüşlerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır.
dc.description.abstractThe idea of linking politics and geography depends on pretty the past. This relationship, whose roots date back to Antique age, was asserted comprehensively and systematically by Ibn Khaldun, a 14th century thinker, and then Montesquieu, who lived in the 18th century. Thus, in political theory, the relationship between politics and geography is evaluated in terms of the thoughts and arguments of Ibn Khaldun and Montesquieu. The relationship between politics and geography seems to be important for understanding social, cultural, political and economic relations both in the past and present. For this reason, it is impossible to think of the factors that compose the politics of societies independently from their geographies as well as to consider societies separately from the effects of their geography. Therefore, while analyzing the influence of geographical factors on the way societies comprehend the world and their politics, the ideas of Ibn Khaldun and Montesquieu on the relationship between politics and geography were discussed. In this context, while examining the relationship between politics and geography, which is the subject of this thesis, it is aimed to analyse the thoughts of these two thinkers on this subject as a theoretical framework.
