dc.description.abstractModern siyasal düşüncenin kurucu isimleri arasında sayılan Thomas Hobbes ve John Locke; XVII. yüzyılda, İngiltere'nin en karmaşık zamanlarında yaşamış ve eserlerini bu dönemde kaleme almış iki önemli düşünürdür. Bu düşünürler egemenliğin meşruiyetini dini tabanlı bir öngörüden bireyin yaratımına dönüştürerek siyaset felsefesine yeni bir soluk getirmişlerdir. Devletin gerekçelendirilmesini "Toplum Sözleşmesi Kuramı" ile birlikte doğa durumunda bireyin bulunduğu konumdan yola çıkarak açıklamışlardır. Çalışmada, Thomas Hobbes'un ve John Locke'un birey ve devlete yönelik incelemeleri, eserlerinin oluştuğu dönemin siyasal, sosyal ve ekonomik dönüşümleri göz ardı edilmeden araştırılmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı; modern devlet olgusunun modern siyaset felsefesi bağlamındaki kökenlerini, iki düşünürün birey ve devlet teorileri çerçevesinde temel metinleri üzerinden açıklamaya çalışmaktır.en_US
dc.description.abstractThomas Hobbes and John Locke, who are considered among the founding figures of modern political thought; XVII They are two important thinkers who lived in the most complex times of England in the century and wrote their works during this period. These thinkers breathed new life into political philosophy by transforming the legitimacy of sovereignty from a religious-based prediction to the creation of an individual. They explained the justification of the state based on the position of the individual in the state of nature together with the "Theory of the Contract of Society". In the study, the studies of Thomas Hobbes and John Locke on the individual and the state were investigated without ignoring the political, social and ekonomic transformations of the period when their works were composed. The purpose of this study is to try to explain the origins of the modern state phenomenon in the context of modern political philosophy through the basic texts of two thinkers within the framework of individual and state theories.en_US
