Gastrointestinal stromal tumours that arise from Intersititial Cell of Cajal in the gastrointestinal tract are the most common mesenchymal tumours. Those tumours are habitually localised in stomach, although it is rarely reported to be encountered in other organs other than gastrointestinal tract. They are often diagnosed incidentally while performing endoscopic and radiologic procedures or during immediate surgical interventions for other conditions such as obstruction, bleeding and perforation. The patients usually remain clinically asymptomatic. Depending on the size and location of the tumour, symptoms are abdominal pain, bloating, dysphagia, meteorism that are not specific for tumour. In this study, we aimed to present a stomach-originated GIST with endoluminal and exoluminal growth pattern that caused an acute gastrointestinal bleeding. © 2015, Anatolian Journal of Clinical Investigation.
