dc.description.abstractToday, climate change, which is one of the most important results to drought in Turkey, as well as other countries constitute the environmental agenda. importance of identification and determination on the drought is more increasing. There are large number of drought index. In this study, the Central Meteorological Station in the Canakkale between the years 1929-2007 consisting of observed monthly total precipitation data were used. SYI (Standardized Precipitation Index) method with a 12-month (annual) and 3-month (seasonal) analysis were examined. According to the analysis results, Canakkale's annual of drought conditions are increasing. Regarded as the seasonal winter seasonal drought increasing trend can be seen. There is a tendency to decrease in the spring season about drought, dry summer and autumn in an increase.
