dc.description.abstractIt is observed that environmentally sensitive applications are increasing day by day in the tourism sector as well as the other sectors. Especially the accommodation enterprises in the first hand, the tourism enterprises apply various green applications and even they are certifying these applications. In addition to international green certifications such as Green Globe and Green Key, Green Star is a national wide certification in Turkey. However, the Green Tour Operator Award has been studied in the scope of applications for green tours, considering there are not very common green travel applications, certifications and the related literature in Turkey. For this aim, the web sites of the Green Tour Operator Award receiving tour operators were examined and the information on their web sites was compiled, the findings about the applications of the green tour operator were tried to be presented. When the relevant Web sites are examined, it has been concluded that the award given for eleven years is shared by only four tour operators and it is thought that the reward has not spread sufficiently among the tour operators. Therefore, tour operators and travel agencies need to be more encouraged to the green tour applications [TR] Diğer sektörlerde olduğu gibi turizm sektöründe de çevreye duyarlı uygulamaların gün geçtikçe arttığı gözlenmektedir. Özellikle konaklama işletmeleri başta olmak üzere turizm işletmeleri çeşitli yeşil uygulamalara başvurmakta ve hatta bu uygulamaları sertifikalandırmaktadırlar. Yeşil Küre, Yeşil Anahtar gibi uluslararası yeşil sertifikasyonların yanı sıra Yeşil Yıldız Türkiye’de ulusal düzeyde kullanılan sertifikalardandır. Ancak, Türkiye başta olmak üzere yeşil seyahate ilişkin uygulamaların ve sertifikaların çok da yaygın olmadığı ve ilgili literatürün yetersizliği dikkate alınarak, yeşil turlara yönelik uygulamalar kapsamında Yeşil Tur Operatörü Ödülü ele alınmıştır. Bu amaçla Yeşil Tur Operatörü Ödülü alan tur operatörlerinin web siteleri incelenmiş ve ilgili web sitelerindeki bilgiler derlenerek, yeşil tur operatörlüğü uygulamalarına ilişkin tespitler ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. İlgili Web siteleri incelendiğinde on bir yıldır verilen ödülü sadece dört tur operatörünün paylaştığı ve tur operatörleri arasında yeterince yayılmadığı kanaati oluşmuştur. Dolayısıyla, tur operatörlerinin ve seyahat acentalarının yeşil tur uygulamalarına daha fazla teşvik edilmesi gerekmektedir
