Comparison of elementary Science and Mathematics teacher education programs in two state universities in Michigan

Özet
In this article, the teacher education, and initial and continuing certification requirements applicable to all teachers in the State of Michigan of the United States are analyzed. Elementary science and mathematics teacher education programs at two state universities in Michigan are analyzed and compared using a descriptive case study method with respect to how they are preparing the teacher candidates for their future careers. The programs are studied in terms of graduation requirements, including the general education, major, minor and professional program requirements.
Bu makalede Amerika Birleşik Devletleri, Michigan eyaletinde öğretmenliğe başlayabilmek ve mesleğe devam edebilmek için sağlanması gereken genel eğitim koşulları incelenmiştir. Ayrıca, eyaletteki iki farklı eyalet üniversitesinde uygulanan ilköğretim matematik ve fen bilgisi öğretmenliği programlarının öğretmen adaylarını mesleğe nasıl hazırladıkları tanımlayıcı durum çalısması yöntemiyle incelenmiş ve karşılaştırılmıştır. Programlar mezun olmak için gereken genel kültür, ana dal, yan dal ve öğretmenlik deneyimi dersleri açısından karşılaştırılmıştır.
