dc.description.abstractBu çalışmada sofistike ürün üretiminin araştırma ve geliştirme faaliyetleri ile ilişkisi araştırılmaya çalışılmıştır. Kullanılan veri seti on iki ülkenin ekonomik kompleksite endeksi değerlerini ve araştırma geliştirme harcama miktarlarını içermektedir. Bunlara üçlü patent sayısı, eğitimli nüfus oranı eklenerek araştırma ve geliştirme faaliyetlerinin daha kapsamlı ele alınması amaçlanmıştır. Ayrıca ekonominin genel durumuna ilişkin büyüme, enflasyon ve emeğin verimliliği açıklayıcı değişkenleri eklenmiştir. Böylece daha açıklayıcı bir model kurulmuş olması hedeflenmektedir. Yöntem olarak panel veri analizi yöntemi seçilmiştir. Değişkenliklerin durağanlıkları Im, Pesaran ve Shin (2003) testi ile test edilmiştir. I0 düzeyinde durağan olmayan değişkenler birinci farkları alınmak suretiyle durağanlaştırılmıştır. Ardından modelin homojenliği Pesaran ve Yamagata (2008) tarafından önerilen test ile sınanmıştır. Kao (1999) ve Pedroni (1999) eş bütünleşme testleri uygulanmış ve modelin uzun dönemde anlamlı ilişkiler barındırdığı tespit edilmiştir. Son olarak panel ARDL yöntemi testlerinden PMG testi ile modelin katsayıları tahmin edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Katsayı tahmini sonucunda sofistike ürün üretimini ölçmek için kullandığımız ekonomik kompleksite endeksi ile üçlü patent sayısı, enflasyon ve büyüme değişkenlerinin anlamlı ilişkisi tespit edilmiştir. Değişkenler ar-ge grubu ve ekonomi grubu olarak ayırıldığında, ekonominin grubunun ilişkisi daha güçlü olduğu sonucu görülmüştür. Buradan sofistike ürün üretiminin arttırılmasının ar-ge ve eğitimden çok daha karmaşık olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
dc.description.abstractIn this study, the relationship between sophisticated product production and R&D activities has been investigated. The dataset used includes the economic complexity index values and R&D expenditure amounts of twelve countries. It is aimed to deal with R&D activities more comprehensively by adding triadic patents and educated population ratio to these. The explanatory variables of growth, inflation and labor productivity related to the general state of the economy were added. It is aimed to establish a more explanatory model. Panel data analysis method was chosen as the method. The stationarity of the variables were tested with the Im, Pesaran, and Shin (2003) test. Variables that are not stationary at the I0 level are made stationary by taking first difference. Then, the homogeneity of the model was tested with the test proposed by Pesaran and Yamagata (2008). Kao (1999) and Pedroni (1999) cointegration tests were applied and it was determined that the model had significant long-term relationships. Finally, the coefficients of the model were tried to be estimated with the PMG test, one of panel ARDL's. Consequently, the coefficient estimation, a significant relationship was determined between the economic complexity index, which we used to measure the production of sophisticated products, and the number of triple patents, inflation and growth variables. When the variables are separated as the R&D and the economy, it is seen that the relationshipvii of the economy group is stronger. It was concluded that increasing the production of sophisticated products is more complex than R&D and education.
