dc.description.abstractThe development differences between both developed and developing countries gradually increased especially after the 19th century. Innovation is shown as the most important reason of these development differences Technological developments are extremely important for the economic growth and development goals of the countries. Also, the technological developments are directly proportional to patent expenditures. In this study, the ratio of exports to gross domestic product was used as the dependent variable. The number of patent applications of residents and the number of patent applications by non-residents was received as independent variable. All data were taken from the World Bank database. The study covers annual data for the period of 1984-2017. As a result of the findings obtained, it has been observed that there is a one-way causality relationship at the level of 5% significance towards the patent applications of residents from the share of exports in the ratio of domestic product
dc.description.abstractGerek gelişmiş gerekse gelişmekte olan ülkeler arasındaki gelişmişlik farkları özellikle 19. yy’dan sonra giderek artış göstermiştir. Bu gelişmişlik farklarının en önemli nedeni olarak inovasyon gösterilmektedir. Ekonomik büyümeyi etkileyen birçok faktör olmakla birlikte en önemli unsuru teknolojik gelişmeler sayılmaktadır. Teknolojik gelişmeler ülkelerin ekonomik büyüme ve kalkınma hedefleri açısından oldukça önem arz etmektedir. Ayrıca, teknolojik gelişmeler, patent harcamaları ile de doğru orantılıdır. Bu çalışmada bağımlı değişken olarak ihracatın yurtiçi hasılaya oranı kullanılmıştır. Bağımsız değişken olarak yurt içi yerleşiklerin patent başvuru sayıları ve yurt içinde yerleşik olmayanlar tarafından yapılan patent başvuru sayıları alınmıştır. Bütün veriler Dünya Bankası veri tabanından alınmıştır. Çalışma, 1984-2017 dönemini kapsamaktadır. Elde edilen bulgular sonucunda ihracatın yurtiçi hasılaya oranı içindeki payından yurtdışı yerleşiklerin patent başvurularına doğru %5 anlamlılık düzeyinde bir nedensellik ilişkisi olduğu görülmüştür.
