Özet
The most commonly encountered benign mesenchymal tumor of human body is lipoma. Intramuscular lipoma is a rarely seen lipoma. Deep seaated lipomas of extremities are generally located in thigh and shoulder. Due to their large diameters, deep localization, infiltration into muscle tissues and local recurrence they can imitate malign tumors such as liposarcoma. Therefore, differential diagnosis should be done from other soft tissue tumors. Ultrasonography (US), computerized tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is essential in differential diagnosis. In this study, clinicopathological properties of thigh seated intramuscular lipoma in three adult patients, operated following a complaint of increasing pain and a giant mass growing seated in thigh are presented with literature. © 2015, Anatolian Journal of Clinical Investigation.
