    Educational Ideologies in Transition: Analyzing Teachers’ Shifting Perspectives through Structured Reflection

    This study investigates the ideological orientations of teachers and the potential transformation of these orientations over 14 weeks, focusing specifically on their conceptualizations of educational ideologies within conservative and liberal frameworks. The research employs an inventory-based assessment to capture participants’ ideological stances. Initial findings revealed participants’ tendency to associate ideological labels with political dualities, reflecting simplified views on educational ideologies. Throughout the study’s second phase, participants engaged in critical reading assignments and reflective discussions designed to expand their awareness and understanding of various educational ideological paradigms. Findings indicate a notable shift in ideological positioning, primarily driven by exposure to foundational texts and structured reflection sessions. In the final phase, participants re-took the initial inventory, allowing for a direct comparison of ideological stances. The comparative analysis demonstrated subtle yet significant shifts, particularly regarding participants’ views on the interrelations between educational ideology, social equity, and the intellectual demands of modern pedagogy. This study underscores the transformative potential of immersive engagement with diverse ideological perspectives, highlighting the need for professional development models that prioritize reflective dialogue and critical exploration of ideological content.

    Gelecek Üzerine Araştırma Yapma Yöntemlerinin Eğitim Araştırmalarında Kullanılması

    Geleceğe dair bilgi sahibi olmak insanların her dönemde ilgisini fazlası ile cezbetmiştir. İnsanlar bunun için tarih boyunca farklı yöntemler kullanmışlar ve karar alırken bu yöntemleri dikkate almışlardır. Gelecek hakkında kestirimler yapmak oldukça zor ve risklidir. Bilinmeyene yönelik tahminler yapma ve yanılma korkusu toplumları belirsiz olan gelecekle uğraşmaktansa geriye bakmaya yöneltmiştir. Bu çalışma gelecek araştırmaları yöntemlerinin tanıtılması ve bu yöntemlerin eğitim araştırmalarında nasıl kullanılacağının açıklanması amacı ile yapılmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında; Ufuk Taraması (Horizon Scanning), Trend Analizi (Trend Analysis), Senaryo Yöntemi (Scenario Method) ve Delfi Yöntemi (Delphi Survey Method) gibi yöntemlerin eğitim araştırmalarında kullanımına yönelik uygulamaları tartışmaktadır

    Tarım Eğitiminde Paradigmatik Dönüşüm: Tarım Üniversiteleri Model Önerileri

    Son otuz yılda Türk yükseköğretim sistemi, üniversitesiz şehir kalmasın yaklaşımı ile muazzam bir gelişme göstermiştir. Cumhuriyet döneminde kurulan üniversitelere ek olarak, bugün toplam üniversite sayısı 209'a yükselmiştir. Ufukta çok sayıda yeni özel ve devlet üniversitesi görünmektedir. Ancak, bu sayısal genişlemenin olumlu etkisi araştırılması gereken bir soru olarak karşımızdadır. Bu çalışmanın çıkış noktası, birbirini tekrar eden homotetik (tek tipleşmiş) üniversiteleri her şehre kurmak yerine, ihtiyaca yönelik tematik üniversiteler kavramına vurgu yapmaktır. Türkiye’nin sahip olduğu tarımsal potansiyel ve akademik deneyim dikkate alındığında, yükseköğretimde tarım eğitimine yönelik üniversite modelleri arayışı bu çalışmanın odak noktasıdır. Bu nedenle, araştırmacılar program geliştirme, yükseköğretim ve tarım alanlarına transdisipliner perspektiften bakarak ne tür modellerin ortaya çıkabileceğini nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden olgu bilim deseni kullanarak incelemişlerdir. Her veri toplama oturumundan sonra sürekli analitik kod çözme, bir sonraki veri toplama sürecine girdi sağlamıştır. Toplanan veri altı farklı tarımsal yükseköğretim yaklaşımı ya da modelini ortaya çıkarmıştır. Bunlar, uygulama odaklı, kalkınma odaklı, işbirliği odaklı, bölgesel ilerleme odaklı, araştırma odaklı ve tematik üniversite yaklaşımlarıdır. Ayrıca, katılımcılar mevcut ziraat fakültelerinin tarım üniversiteleri çatısı altında birleştirilmesinin Türkiye’de tarım eğitimini güçlendireceğini belirtmişlerdir.

    Trends and Transformations or Deformations in Teacher Training: An 18-Year Interval Study of Prospective Teachers in Türkiye

    This study aims to investigate how the demographic characteristics, social and cultural values, and motivations for pursuing a teaching career among prospective teachers in Türkiye have changed over the past 18 years. The initial study was conducted in 2006. Participants of 2006 are now experienced teachers with nearly 15 years of practice. Children who were not even born at the time of the original study are now studying their first year in teacher education programs in 2024. The main goal of this study is to identify which aspects of prospective teachers' profiles have changed over time and/or which have remained consistent. Analyzing these changes is crucial for understanding the dynamics of teacher training and societal transformations. The education system’s quality of is directly interrelated to the investments made in its teachers, therefore making the focus on teacher training essential. In countries like Türkiye strengthening teacher education and enriching the teaching profession's status is vital. Furthermore, prospective teachers' social capitals play a significant role in influencing their access to resources and opportunities. This study highlights that challenges related to teacher recruitment, training, and retention are crucial for preparing future generations to lead confidently in education. By comparing data sets of 2006 with 2024, this research discloses significant changes in prospective teachers' attitudes and trust levels, examining how these changes reflect broader educational and societal swings.
