Özel Eğitim Çalışanlarının Eğitimde Mizah Kullanımına Yönelik Tutumlarının İncelenmesi

Özet
Mizah her yaştan bireyin yaşam içinde karşılaştığı bir olgudur. Hayat anlamlı, anlaşılır ve
eğlenceli olmalıdır. Mizahtan normal gelişim gösteren bireyler kadar özel gereksinimli bireylerin
eğitiminde de yararlanılabilir. Özel eğitimde mizah kullanmak öğrencilerin öğrenmelerini ve motive
olmalarını kolaylaştırabilir. Bu çalışmanın amacı bireysel eğitim ve terapi uygulayan özel eğitim
kurumu çalışanlarının eğitimde mizah kullanımına yönelik tutumlarını incelemektir. Çalışma grubu,
kolay ulaşılabilir örnekleme yöntemiyle kendilerine ulaşılabilen ve çalışmaya gönüllü katılım sağlayan
özel eğitim kurumu çalışanından 101 erkek ve 172 kadın olmak üzere toplam 273 özel eğitim kurumu
çalışanı eğitimci ve terapistten oluşmuştur. Veri toplama aracı olarak Eğitimde Mizahın Kullanımına
Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği ve araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen kişisel bilgi formu kullanılmıştır. Veri
toplama araçlarına ilişkin bilgiler google form üzerinden hazırlanarak bağlantı linki katılımcılara
gönderilmiştir. Katılımcıların gönüllü katılım onamı da aynı yolla alınmıştır. Verilerin analizinde
normallik dağılımı dikkate alınarak non-parametrik testlerden olan Mann Whitney-U (MWU) ve
Kruskal Wallis-H (KWH) testlerinden faydalanılmıştır. Sonuç olarak; özel eğitim çalışanlarının
cinsiyeti, kıdem yılı ve çalıştığı engel türüne göre eğitimde mizah kullanımına yönelik tutumlarında
anlamlı farklılık oluşmadığı belirlenmiştir. Yaşı 36-40 yaş aralığındakilerin eğitimde mizah
kullanımına yönelik olumlu tutumlarının daha küçük yaştakilere göre anlamlı düzeyde yüksek olduğu;
özel eğitim ve sınıf öğretmenlerinin diğer branşlara göre daha olumlu tutuma sahip oldukları
bulunmuştur.
Humor is a phenomenon that individuals of all ages encounter in life. Life should be meaningful, understandable and fun. Humor can be used in the education of individuals with special needs as well as individuals with normal development. Using humor in special education can facilitate students' learning and motivation. The aim of this study is to examine the attitudes of private education institution employees who apply individual education and therapy towards the use of humor in education. The study group consisted of a total of 273 private education institution employees, educators and therapists, 101 men and 172 women, who could be reached through the easily accessible sampling method and volunteered to participate in the study. The Attitude Scale towards the Use of Humor in Education and the personal information form developed by the researchers were used as data collection tools. Information about the data collection tools was prepared via the google form and the link link was sent to the participants. Voluntary consent of the participants was obtained in the same way. Mann Whitney-U (MWU) and Kruskal Wallis-H (KWH) tests, which are non-parametric tests, were used in the analysis of the data, taking into account the normality distribution. In conclusion; It was determined that there was no significant difference in the attitudes of special education employees towards the use of humor in education according to their gender, seniority and type of disability. The positive attitudes of those aged between 36-40 years towards the use of humor in education were significantly higher than those of younger age; It has been found that special education and classroom teachers have more positive attitudes than other branches.
