It has been widely accepted that the Innovation capability of nations, regions or of firms has been considered as one of the fundamental factors to increase competitiveness and productivity. The innovation capability is related to the several factors including the knowledge accumulation. To seek out and determine its availability would be a significant first step towards its development and management. So, numerous studies and surveys on innovation have been conducted in many countries. In the same way, innovation capabilities of manufacturing industries located in the Lakes Region have been investigated by utilizing a field survey. Consequently, both the firms’ and the region’s innovation capabilities have been analyzed by employing the survey results and the modern economics of innovation theories.
