Öğe The effect of fructose-induced metabolic syndrome on the histological structure and enteroendocrine cells in duodenum of rats(Univ Zulia, Facultad Ciencias Veterinarias, 2024) Yıldız, Mustafa; Kum, ŞadiyeMetabolic syndrome is a worldwide common disorder that coexists with abdominal obesity, high blood pressure, dyslipidemia, and high blood sugar. The purpose of this investigation was to examine the effects of metabolic syndrome on enteroendocrine cell count and histological structure in duodenum. The rats were separated into control and metabolic syndrome groups. Duodenum tissue sections were stained with hematoxylin-eosin for histomorphological examinations. Additionally, immunohistochemical analysis of duodenum showed the presence of somatostatin and gastrin immunoreactive cells. In duodenum, it was found that villus height, villus width, villus area and thickness of tunica muscularis significantly increased in metabolic syndrome group compared to control group. Similarly, it was observed that the numbers of somatostatin and gastrin immunoreactive cells in duodenum were significantly higher in metabolic syndrome group compared to control group. As a result, it was revealed that metabolic syndrome caused structural disorders in duodenum and changed enteroendocrine cell population. Thus, it can be assumed that intestinal functions may be negatively affected due to metabolic syndrome and digestive physiology may be disrupted.Öğe Changes Induced by Copper Toxicity in the Rat Liver and the Effects of Panax Ginseng on These Changes(Pleiades Publishing Inc, 2023) Yıldız, Mustafa; Boyacıoğlu, M.; Avcıoğlu, M.; Elmas, SaitCopper is a trace element that accumulates in the body and forms harmful effects. Panax ginseng is a plant that possesses antioxidant properties. The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether Panax ginseng protects the livers of rats exposed to copper sulfate. The rats were randomly divided into four groups as control, Panax ginseng, copper sulfate and Panax ginseng + copper sulfate. At the end of the trial, blood and liver samples were obtained from the animals. Biochemical analysis was carried out in blood samples. Oxidant and antioxidant parameters were analyzed in liver samples. In addition, liver tissue sections were stained with the hematoxylin-eosin, Masson's trichrome, periodic acid-Schiff, and rhodanine staining methods for histochemical and histopathological examinations. It was found that serum alanine transaminase (ALT) and aspartate transaminase (AST) levels, also densities of copper and histopathological parameters except for central vein dilatation and malondialdehyde (MDA) value in the liver significantly increased in copper sulfate group compared to control group, but inflammatory cell infiltration and MDA value decreased in Panax ginseng + copper sulfate group compared to copper sulfate group. In addition, it was determined that glycogen density, glutathione (GSH) level and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity in the liver significantly decreased in copper sulfate group compared to control group, and they increased in Panax ginseng + copper sulfate group compared to copper sulfate group. As a result, copper sulfate causes structural and oxidative abnormalities in the liver. Additionally, Panax ginseng helps to protect liver tissue by diminishing oxidative damage in copper sulfate toxicity.Öğe Effect of Alpha Lipoic Acid on Polychlorinated Biphenyl (Aroclor 1254)-Induced Nephrotoxicity in Rats(Afyon Kocatepe University, 2023) Yıldız, MustafaThe present study aimed to determine the morphological changes in rat kidneys exposed to PCB (Aroclor 1254) and to reveal the effects of ALA on those changes. Rats were randomly divided into four groups: Control, ALA, PCB and ALA+PCB. The applications of ALA and PCB continued for thirty days. At the end of the experiment, the tissue samples were taken from the animals. Crossmon’s triple staining method was applied to kidney sections for histopathological and histomorphometric examinations. In addition, the periodic acid-Schiff (PAS) reaction was examined in tissue sections. Histopathologically, it was determined that glomerular degeneration and connective tissue densities in the kidney significantly increased in PCB group compared to Control group. Besides, it was found that glomerular degeneration intensity significantly decreased in ALA+PCB group compared to PCB group. It was detected that the diameters of the renal corpuscle, proximal tubule, ascending limb of Henle’s loop and collecting duct in the kidney significantly decreased in PCB group compared to Control group. However, these parameters significantly increased in ALA+PCB group compared to PCB group. While the density of glomerular mesangial matrix and glycogen density in proximal tubule epithelium significantly increased in PCB group compared to Control group, these parameters significantly decreased in ALA+PCB group compared to PCB group. As a result, PCB may adversely affect renal functions by causing disorders in kidney histology. In addition, the use of ALA against PCB exposure may contribute to the preservation of kidney tissue.Öğe Dijital Teknolojiye Yönelik Tutumların Girişimcilik Niyetindeki Rolü: Z Kuşağında Bir Araştırma(Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart Üniversitesi, 2021) Köse, Can; Cesur, DidemGünümüzde artan teknoloji, bilgiye erişimin kolaylığı ve girişimcilik eğitiminin lise dengi okullarda verilmeye başlanması ile birlikte gençlerin girişimciliğe adım atmaları diğer kuşaklara göre daha erken olmaya başlamıştır. Bağımsızlığına ve özgürlüğüne düşkün, teknolojiye meraklı, bilgiye hızlı erişebilen, formaliteye uyum sağlamayan, çeşitliliği seven ve hızlı öğrenen ve kendi işini yapmak isteyen gençler artık üniversite mezunu olmayı bile beklemeden iş kurmaya yönelmektedir. Bu çalışmada Z kuşağının dijital teknolojiye yönelik tutumunun girişimcilik niyetine etkisini ölçmek amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda 423 Z kuşağı mensubu kişiye anket uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler, yapısal eşitlik modeli kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre Z kuşağının dijital teknolojiye yönelik tutumlarının girişimcilik niyeti üzerinde etkisinin olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.Öğe Compact stars in ?(R, T) gravity(Springer Science and Business Media B.V., 2023) Taṣer, Dog̃ukan; Dog̃ru, Sertaç SerkanThe study is conducted for investigation of a new solution for stellar objects in κ(R, T) theory. We investigate whether Krori–Barua model produces valid results in κ(R, T) theory. We attain field equations through Krori–Barua metric form related with geometry of inner space. From field equations, we obtain all unknown matter components κ(T) = 8 πG− λT in the theory. Constructed model is considered with some class of compact stars such as 4 U1820 − 30 , SAXJ1808.4 − 3658 , and HerX− 1 . To prove physical stability of the constructed model, we investigate both normal and effective matter form behaviors by way of some physical conditions. It is found that all conditions are valid for effective matter. Therefore, this study reveals consistency of both the compact star model and the gravitation theory. But a remarkable point is that normal matter has to face some problems in the κ(R, T) theory.
