Possibilities of Usage of Strategic Business Intelligence systems Based on Databases in Agile Manufacturing
(Elsevier Science Bv, 2015) Ucakturk, Ahmet; Ucakturk, Tulay; Yavuz, Halil
Organizations must have the ability of responding quickly to predictable and unpredictable changes in the market. Organizations' ability to adapt to the fast changing conditions depending on the differing requirements of the customers, depend to a great extend on their ability to become agile. Since change and ambiguity always exist and always will in future, the necessity of the organizations to understand these changes in environment conditions quickly and to be able to respond gains importance every passing day. This requirement provides the wide spreading of agile manufacturing philosophy in organizations. Organizations, due to agile manufacturing, will be able to have the chance of turning the ambiguities in the environment to possibilities. Today, accessing correct and more detailed information became possible however another problem has arisen. This problem is the management of large numerical data stacks and their becoming meaningful. The work of turning raw data into information or making them meaningful can be made with data warehouse and business intelligence tools (data mining, inquiry-reporting, OLAP). At the stage of quickly accessing and using data which will form the basis of agile manufacturing work, creation of data warehouses and using them by integrating into organization information system will be useful. In this work, information is tried to be provided with the literature scanning about the possibility of usage of data warehouse and data base architecture during agile manufacturing process and with business intelligence tools. (Elsevier Science Bv, 2013) Ucakturk, Ahmet; Celik, Faik; Demirkaya, Harun; Ucakturk, Tulay
World is changing with an unprecedented acceleration. Some countries that were previously unable to make adequate production or made no production and had to bend the knee before Western world's power of production and industry are changing dramatically at the present time and trying to develop. They are now capable of competing with the Western world. The most important reason of that is the change in power perception of those countries as well as their practice in business model innovation. Sonic of those countries are also aware that they have to deal with social improvement and environmental control concepts together and at long sight as well as economic development. In this way it may be possible to be confident about the future and to vindicate the rights of rising generation by securing continuity of economic growth and social improvement. The point we particularly lay stress on here is the research for how the upside trend of the countries, especially that of Turkey, that have gone over the certain limits with regards to development has been changed on the basis of power perception of their business model innovation strategies in tennis of sustainable growth.. Prevailing During the Periods of Economical Crisis and Recession through Business Model Innovation
(Elsevier Science Bv, 2011) Ucakturk, Ahmet; Bekmezci, Mustafa; Ucakturk, Tulay
There is a consensus among economists on the measures to be taken in economical means during an economic recession and crisis. In this context, these measures include establishing and managing capital structure in a way to cover costs of long term losses and expensive loan payments, avoiding borrowing to finance the losses, being cautious on the use of long-term bank loans only for long-term loan needs, managing stock's levels efficiently and, if possible, reducing inventories, making savings, changing business model since the current economic conditions may well be very different from the pre-crisis environment, even if the economic crisis is over. There are many companies, in Turkey and in the world, that outlast and increase their market shares and profits through changing their business model in this regard. Serious problems and insurmountable obstacles are considered as a boon for creativity and innovation in business model and in the mean time; innovations are reported as a powerful trigger in times of crisis [1]. Jeffrey Fox identifies that companies surpassing their rivals in innovation, during the Great Depression and 12-recession period afterwards in the United States, possessed always much stronger market shares after these economic crisis and gained more profits [2]. Ken Chenault, American Express CEO, expresses, difficult periods require you to be more innovative [3]. In other words, the path to be pursued for prevailing, during periods of crisis and the difficult economic conditions, passes through innovation. Business model innovation is gathering key resources and processes of an enterprise in harmony and in a totally different way than competitors', in order to create value for itself and its customers. Therefore, business model innovation is the best and the most valid way to cope with the crisis and recession periods to increase market share and to profit. However, it is observed that enterprises considering their existing business models as steadfast phenomenon do not divert from their traditional processes and are rarely successful in business model innovation. This study determines the failure causes of enterprises in business model innovation. If these determinations are taken into consideration by managers and CEOs they will help enterprises to cope with difficult economic conditions, such as crisis and recession periods, economic stagnation, lucratively. The Elements That Determine The Success Of The Strategic Allies In New Normal
(Elsevier Science Bv, 2012) Ucakturk, Ahmet; Bekmezci, Mustafa; Ucakturk, Tulay
New Normal is a term which is used to define and name the new form and shape that has come into existence due to the fact that the ways of doing business has radically changed as a result of globalization's forming its own organizations in the development process of technology by keeping away from the crises. The economy elite in the world is now discussing about a new order which is directed to the human needs and is more convenient and about a more creative capitalism, and about mechanisms that has become more social and that provides balances with organizations within the countries or with supranational organizations. In the new global system in which more risk will be taken and more precaution will be needed, the new normal contains and involves a supervisory measure which is rather regulative. Now the rules of new normalization are being discussed instead of the old standards and systems. In the present era through which we are passing, enterprises have various responsibilities and duties in order to provide the necessary compliance for the state of affairs and in finding solutions for the conflicts. And these are mainly made up of finding answers to the questions with respect to competition, market, technology, and human beings; and at the same time it is necessary that the enterprise should find new ways for its capacity of change and for expanding in the market and for improving. The Strategic cooperation and agreements of organizations and corporate bodies ( companies) and sharing knowledge and experience in the new normal are an answer to the indefiniteness brought about by the new normal and to the new form of relationships. When this new approach and constructive management style are implemented, they seem to be one of the most important tools on the way to success in today's world. Those corporations which will be able to establish strategic alliance and be skillful in the management of strategic alliance will have a distinctive feature in comparison to those corporations which will not be able to that. This study aims at finding what the new normal brings about and at analyzing the strategic alliance and agreements by scrutinizing them, and it aims, at the same time, at emphasizing the factors that play important roles in the success of those strategies.
