Öğe Compliance of Intensive Care Nurses to Isolation Precautions and Investigation of Related Factors(Aydın Adnan Menderes Üniversitesi, 2022) Askeroğlu, Araz; Balkaya, Fatmanur; Tercan, FigenObjective: In this study it was aimed to examine the compliance of intensive care nurses with isolation methods related to the prevention of nosocomial infections and related factors. Methods: This descriptive study was carried out in the surgical intensive care units of one state and two health training and research hospitals in the Aegean and Marmara Regions. A total of 103 nurses were included in the study. Face-to-face interview technique was used in intensive care units to collect data. The 'Sociodemographic Information Form' and 'Scale of Compliance with Isolation Precautions' were used to collect the data. Results: In the study, the mean score of the Nurses' Compliance with Isolation Measures Scale was 77.72±9.12. The mean scores of transmission route, employee and patient safety, environmental control and hand hygiene-glove use, which are the sub-dimensions of the scale, were found to be 21.93±2.61, 25.66±3.60, 17.04±2.38 and 13.07±2.60, respectively. Although the mean scores for compliance with isolation measures were found to be higher in nurses who were female, postgraduate education, aged 25-30, with less than one year of experience, working less than 40 hours a week and caring for four patients, there was no statistically significant difference (p˃0.05). The mean score of working and patient safety among female nurses was found to be statistically significantly higher than that of men (p˂0.05). Conclusion: In our study, nurses' compliance with isolation measures was found to be high. It is thought that institutions should reduce the weekly working hours of nurses and support postgraduate education, and in-service training on isolation measures related to patient care and treatment is importantÖğe Hemodiyaliz Hastaların Arteriovenöz Fistüle İlişkin Öz-Bakım Bilgi ve Davranışlarının İncelenmesi(İzmir Katip Çelebi Üniversitesi, 2021) Askeroğlu, Araz; Acar, Demet; Tercan, Figen; Çankaya, AskeriAmaç: Çalışmada hemodiyaliz hastaların arteriyovenöz fistüle ilişkin öz-bakım bilgi ve davranışlarının belirlenmesi amaçlandı. [EN] Objective: This study aimed to investigate self-care knowledge and behaviors of the hemodialysis patients regarding their arteriovenous fistula. Material and Method: This cross-sectionally multicenter study was carried on 103 patients who underwent hemodialysis procedure. For data collection, forms that were prepared based on literature were used. Data was collected through face-to-face interviews. To evaluation of patient’s knowledge and behaviors about arteriovenous fistula 50% classification systems were used. Results: It was determined that 63.4% of the patients did not have knowledge about performing mild exercises for the development of the fistula, and 52.4% of them had no knowledge about assessment of the fistula and contacting the dialysis center when blood pressure dropped. The most mentioned practices about arteriovenous fistula were not to draw blood - injection (97.1%), not wear tight clothes (94.2%), and to not measure blood pressure (89.3%) on the arm with fistula, respectively. Significant differences were found between the patients' gender, marital status, educational status, presence of chronic disease, place of residence and education about fistula, and AV fistula self-care information. Moreover, a significant difference was found between the patients' marital status, education about fistula and fistula change, and AV fistula self-care behaviors (p
