Öğe CHRONOTYPE AND QUALITY OF LIFE IN PATIENTS WITH ALLERGIC RHINITIS(2021) Çağlar, Özge; Tas, Halil İbrahim; Oymak, SibelObjective: The aim of this study is to investigate the coronotypes and quality of life of patients with allergic rhinitis.Material Method: Our patient group consisted of 100 patients and our control group consisted of 74 patients. The patients with allergicrhinitis and the control group were selected from patients who did not have any other psychiatric or comorbid diseases and did not use anymedication. First, patients with symptoms for at least 6 months were diagnosed with allergic rhinitis with appropriate examinations ,followed by morning-evening test (MEQ) and quality of life test (SF-36). Results were compared statistically. Results: The average age of our study group is 32.03 ± 8.31. There was no difference between the control group and the patient group interms of age, gender and socioeconomic status. The number of those who were close to the evening type and definitely close to the eveningtype was higher in the patient group and it was statistically significant. It was observed that the parameters showing the quality of life in theevening type patients were worse. Conclusion: This study shows that patients with allergic rhinitis tend to have the evening type. This also reduces the quality of life. Thisshows us that the sleep and psychological states of patients with allergic rhinitis are also affected by the disease and this should be taken intoconsideration.Öğe Evaluation of oxidative stress with thiol disulfide balance parameters in unipolar depression patients with and without mixed symptoms(Cumhuriyet Univ Tip Fak Psikiyatri Anabilim Dali, 2020) Acar Yıldızoğlu, Çiler; Tas, Halil İbrahimObjective: Number of studies evaluating oxidative stress in unipolar depression are increasing. The aim of this study was to evaluate the scores of oxidative stress in unipolar depression patients and in mixed type of unipolar depression and to compare these scores with healthy subjects in terms of dynamic thiol/disulfide balance parameters. Methods: Ninety-eight patients aged between 18 and 65 years with the diagnosis of unipolar depressive disorder diagnosed according to DSM-5 criteria and 97 age- and sex-matched 97 healthy individuals who applied to the Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic of Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University Faculty of Medicine Psychiatry Department between April 2018 and September 2018 were included in the study. Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAM-D) and Modified Hypomania Checklist (M-HCL) were used respectively to determine depressive symptoms, manic symptoms and the severity of the disease. Oxidative stress parameters were measured by evaluating fasting blood samples taken from all participants. Results: In the unipolar depression group, the levels of disulfide, total thiol, oxidation-reduction and oxidized thiol levels were found to be statistically significant in favor of oxidation (p<0.05). Reduced thiol levels, which are favorable for the antioxidant system, were statistically lower than the control group (p<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference between the mixed featured depression as a specifier for unipolar depression and non-mixed featured unipolar depression in thiol-disulfide balance. Discussion: The studies to be carried out longitudinally in terms of the oxidation balance, in which all depression specifiers are evaluated, will shed more light on this subject. In our study, dynamic thiol/disulfide balance parameters in favor of increased oxidation were shown to be significantly higher in the depression group than the control group. There was no significant difference between the dynamic thiol/disulfide balance parameters between the mixed depression group and the non-mixed depression group. This finding showed that the balance deteriorated in favor of oxidation in depression may not make a significant difference in terms of depression prognosis in mixed symptom depression. Longterm studies that assess all depression predictors in terms of oxidation balance will shed more light on this issue.Öğe Tıp fakültesi beşinci sınıf öğrencilerinde psikiyatri stajı öncesi ve sonrasında psikiyatriye yönelik tutum ve düşüncelerinin değerlendirilmesi(Yusuf Haydar ERTEKİN, 2018) Tas, Halil İbrahim; Ertekin, HulyaGiriş: Bu çalışmada tıp fakültesi 5. sınıf öğrencilerinde psikiyatri stajı önce ve sonrasında psikiyatriye yönelik tutum ve düşüncelerinde değişiklikler olup olmadığını irdelemeyi amaçladık.Yöntem: Araştırmada Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi 5. sınıf öğrencisi olan 65 öğrenci katılmıştır. [EN] Introduction: We aimed to evaluate of attitudes and thoughts of 5th grade medical faculty students towards psychiatry before and after psychiatry internship in this study. Methods: Of fifth grade, 65 student of Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University Faculty of Medicine participated in this study. These students were asked to fill out the questionnaire of “Attitudes and Thoughts towards Psychiatry” before and after the psychiatric internship. This questionnaire consists of 38 questions, about attitudes towards psychiatry, psychiatric treatment and psychiatrists. The SPSS Package Program 20.0 statistical program was used for data analysis. Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Shapiro Wilk and Paired Samples Test were used. Results: 64.3% (n=36) of the study group were female, and 35.7% (n = 20) of the study group were male. 49.0% of the students preferred "internal sciences", 49.0% preferred "surgical sciences", and 2.0% "basic sciences". A total 14 questions from 38 questions were found to be statistically significant after the internship. Conclusion: It was observed that there were positive attitudes about the benefits of psychiatric treatment and consultation services after the internship compared to the pre-internship, decreased negative thoughts about psychiatric patients and psychiatristsin students of faculty of medicine. Despite the generally positive changes in psychiatric science, decreased preference of psychiatry have been observed in students of faculty of medicine.
