Öğe A neutral arene ruthenium(II) complex with a sulfonated N,O-chelating ligand: Synthesis, characterization, in vitro cytotoxicity and antibacterial activity(Pergamon-Elsevier Science Ltd, 2020) Selvi, Gizem; Ozdemir, Fethi Ahmet; Aykutoglu, Gurkan; Ozdemir, Namik; Serbetci, Zafer; Cetinkaya, Bekir; Dayan, OsmanIn this work, a new N,O-type ligand (L1H) containing a sulfonate ester group and its heteroleptic Ru(II) complex (C1) have been prepared and structurally characterized by various techniques, such as UV-vis, ESI-MS, NMR and IR. The spectroscopic results (IR, UV-vis and NMR) were compared with the results of density functional theory (DFT) calculations. The solid-state structures of L1H and C1 were crystallographically verified. Moreover, the in vitro cytotoxicity and antibacterial properties of 1, L1H and Cl have been screened. All the compounds exhibited good cytotoxicity towards human neuroblastoma cancer cells and antibacterial effects towards 16 bacterial strains, both gram positive and negative. The results revealed that the Ru(II) complex exhibits higher biological activities than the starting materials 1 and L1H. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. Also, the catalytic activities of the Ru(II) and Pd(II) complexes were examined comparatively for the degradation of Eosin Yellow.Öğe The preparation of new palladium (II) complexes with Schiff base type ligands and its impregnated Al2O3materials: As the catalysts for degradation/reduction of organic dyes(Wiley, 2020) Selvi, Gizem; Tercan, Melek; Ozdemir, Namik; Dayan, OsmanThe removal of organic dyes used in many sectors such as textile, paper, leather, and packaging from water sources is very important in terms of preventing the spread of industrial pollutants to the environment. Transition metal complexes supported to an inorganic solid material are frequently used for the degradation/reduction of organic dyes causing this pollution. In this study, new Pd (II) complexes with Schiff base ligands were synthesized and structurally characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), mass spectrometry (MS), and single-crystal X-ray diffraction (sc-XRD) spectroscopic methods. Then, the Al2O3-impregnated materials of these Pd (II) complexes were prepared and characterized by scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray analysis (SEM-EDX), FT-IR, and thermogravimetry (TG) techniques. The catalytic activities of the synthesized Pd (II) complexes and their Al2O3-impregnated materials were comparatively analyzed to investigate the degradation/reduction of organic dyes (2-nitroaniline, 4-nitroaniline, 4-nitrophenol, eosin yellow, and methylene blue). The catalytic results indicate that Al2O3-impregnated materials are very active catalysts for the degradation/reduction of organic dyes under those circumstances. Conversions of up to 98% for all substrates were obtained after 5 min at ambient temperature.Öğe Yeni ikidişli Schiff bazı ligantlar içeren geçiş metal komplekslerinin sentezi ve karakterizasyonu(Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart Üniversitesi, 2021) Selvi, Gizem; Dayan, OsmanBu tez kapsamında aren-sülfonat grubu içeren 3 tane aldehit ve bunların 2-hidroksianilin ile tepkimesinden 3 tane yeni Schiff bazı sentezlendi. Bu Schiff bazlarından da 3 tane Pd(II) ve 3 tane Ru(II) kompleksleri sentezlendi. Pd(II) kompleklerinden emdirme yöntemi kullanılarak Al2O3 destekli malzemeler hazırlandı. Elde edilen bütün bileşik ve malzemelerin yapıları uygun yöntemler kullanılarak aydınlatıldı. Hazırlanan Pd kompleksleri 2-nitroanilin, 4-nitroanilin, 4-nitrofenol ve eosin sarısı'nın sulu ortamda NaBH4 varlığında hidrojenasyon/bozunması tepkimesinde katalizör olarak kullanıldı.
