Öğe Hordenine amount in Phyllophora nervosa (D.C.Grev) (Marine Alga) collected from Şile (the Black Sea) and Dardanelle(University of Istanbul, 2007) Percot, Aline; Yalçin, Ahmet; Erdu?an, Hüseyin; Güven, Kasim CemalIn our earlier work, hordenine, an alkaloid was first time extracted from Phyllophora nervosa collected from Şile in 1969. In this work, this alkaloid was extracted in the same alga collected from Şile and Dardanelle and the amount of hordenine was determined by GC/MS analysis. The hordenine content was 39.66 ?g/g for Şile and 1.15 mg/g for Dardanelle sample.Öğe Hordenine in the marine alga, Gelidium crinale (Hare ex Turner) Gaillon(University of Istanbul, 2007) Yalçin, Ahmet; Percot, Aline; Erdu?an, Hüseyin; Çoban, Burak; Güven, Kasim CemalThe alkaloid hordenine was firstly isolated from marine algae Phyllophora nervosa in 1969. In this work hordenine occurrence in Gelidium crinale collected from Şile is reported. The content of hordenine was 9.54 ?g/g. This amount is lower than in the other hordenine containing algae. It is the first record of hordenine in Gelidium crinale.Öğe Loliolide in marine algae(Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2009) Percot, Aline; Yalcin, Ahmet; Aysel, Veysel; Erdugan, Hueseyin; Dural, Berrin; Guven, Kasim CemalLoliolide content was determined in 13 marine algae including red, brown and green algae collected from the Black Sea, the Dardanelles and the Aegean Sea. Identification and quantification were performed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The loliolide content in green alga is 1.76 g g-1, ranges from 0.14 to 4.35 g g-1 in red and from 0.18 to 4.83 g g-1 in brown algae. The results obtained are in the same range as previously reported for algae, as well as terrestrial plants. This article represents the first report of loliolide occurrence in green algae.Öğe N-acetyltyramine from Phyllophora crispa (Hudson) P.S. Dixon and N-acetylphenylethylamine from Gelidium crinale (Hare ex Turner) Craillon(University of Istanbul, 2009) Percot, Aline; Güven, Kasim Cemal; Aysel, Veysel; Erdu?an, Hüseyin; Gezgin, TuncayIn this work N-acetyltyramine and N-acetylphenylethylamine were identified by GC-MS for the first time in a marine algae, Phyllophora crispa and Gelidium crinale respectively. In our earlier work hordenine was found in both algae. Tyramine and phenylethylamine appear as a precursor of hordenine in barley. Similarly to these findings we suggested that the present compounds are also precursor for hordenine in algae.Öğe ?-Phenylethylamine content in marine algae around Turkish coasts(Walter De Gruyter Gmbh, 2009) Percot, Aline; Yalcin, Ahmet; Aysel, Veysel; Erdugan, Hueseyin; Dural, Berrin; Gueven, Kasim Cemalbeta-Phenylethylamine content was investigated in two green, five brown, and ten red marine algae by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. beta-Phenylethylamine was found in six red algae but was not detected in the brown and green algae studied. The highest amount of beta-phenylethylamine was determined in Gelidium crinale (30.42 mu g g(-1)). This is the first report of beta-phenylethylamine in the algae tested and also the first to quantify beta-phenylethylamine in marine algae.
