Öğe Determination of Extraordinary Districts in Party Preferences in Turkey (2007-2015)(Ankara Haci Bayram Veli Univ, 2019) Ozozen Kahraman, Selver; Gultay, BerrinIn this study, it is aimed to determine the districts which show extraordinary votes in 9 election regions and across the country according to the results of the last four general elections (2007, 2011, June 2015 and November 2015) in the parliamentary system. Hence, voting rates data in electoral areas were converted into standard Z scores. In the converted data, districts staying within +/- 2,5 standard deviation distance were determined as extreme values; that is, districts showing extraordinary voting. Furthermore, in this study, the regional distribution of the districts supporting one party over the national average in the two of the elections, at least, three of them and all of them was demonstrated. Therefore, an attempt to provide insight on extraordinary observation discussions on this issue was made by determining which districts became the strongholds of which parties in these elections.Öğe Socio - Economic and Spatial Analysis of Location of Bursa at the Migration Preferences of Artvin People(Istanbul Univ, Fac Letters, Dept Geography, 2016) Bahcali, Selin; Ozozen Kahraman, SelverDuring the historical period, the city of Bursa, has become one of the most popular center for immigrant settlers not only because it was industrially and commercially well developed city but also because of it's advanced business possibilities, educational opportunities, social - cultural potential and geographic advances. According to 2014 data from TUIK (Turkish Statistical Institute), %45.73 of Bursa's inhabitants are registered to a city other than Bursa. Immigrants of Bursa, come from a wide variety of cities. The level of migration flow from Artvin is especially notable. This study examines the historical background of migration flow from Artvin to Bursa, the factors which led to migration and the reasoning of immigrants preferring Bursa as well as their adjustment period. The Classifiation Tree was used as the statistical analysis method to this model the factors that have significant effect over the migration decision from Artvin o Bursa. In conclusion, the reason for migration from Artvin is economic in nature. In addition, the social interactions between the emigrants and the residents of Artvin have a significant effect over the decision to migrate.
