    Investigating parental involvement at beginning of elementary school

    There are many studies conducted in order to make the education given in the schools more efficient and wholly achieve the certain targets. When discussing students’ education as a whole, there are many factors having an effect on the students’ success apart from the education given at schools. The families also have an active part in these factors. Families involved in the education process of their children not only help themselves but also help their children and the educational institutions to be developed in a positive way. In this study, it is aimed to determine the level of parent involvement in their children educational process and to analyze these levels in terms of different variables. Working group of the study consisted of 211 mothers and 91 fathers whose child is a first grade student. Parents’ levels of involving in home-based, school-based and school-family cooperation based activities were determined. "Family Involvement Scale" was applied to the parents participated in the study. As a result, the involvement level of parents was often in the medium level, the mothers involved in the activities much more by comparison with the fathers, working parents showed more interest involving in the activities at school and in the classroom as comparing with the nonemployees. Besides, it was found out that 30-42 year old parents were more concerned with their children's education at home by comparison with 43 year old and older parents. Furthermore, parents’ income monthly income was a predictor of their family involvement. However, their educational status was determined as having no effect on family involvement.

    Tüketici Çevre Bilinci Algı Ölçeği Geçerlik ve Güvenirlik Çalışması

    Çevresel bilinç, ki?inin çevre bilgisine, çevreye olan tutumuna, çevresel duyarlılığına ve çevreye kar?ı yararlı davranı?larda bulunmasına göre ?ekillenir. Bu doğrultuda, çalı?manın temel amacı, öğretmen adaylarının tüketici olarak çevre bilinci algısını belirlemeye yönelik bir tüketici çevre bilinci algı ölçeği geli?tirmektir. Ara?tırmanın çalı?ma grubunu 2015-2016 öğretim yılında Ahi Evran Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi?nin farklı anabilim dallarında öğrenim gören 396 öğretmen adayı olu?turmaktadır. Örneklemde yer alan öğretmen adaylarının %70,2?si kız, %29,8?i erkektir. ?lgili alanyazının taranmasından sonra olu?turulan ölçeğin ilk hali 45 maddeden olu?maktadır. Uzman görü?leri neticesinde madde sayısı 36?ya indirilerek çalı?ma grubuna uygulanmı?tır. Ölçeğin geçerliğini belirlemek için açımlayıcı faktör analizi yapılmı?, madde faktör toplam korelasyonları ve madde ayrımcılık değerleri hesaplanmı?tır. Ölçeğin güvenilirliğini belirlemek için, iç tutarlılık düzeyi ve stabilite seviyeleri hesaplanmı?tır. Son hali verilerek uygulanan ölçekte 36 madde olup, bunlardan 8 maddenin faktör yükü 0,30 „un altında olmasından dolayı çıkarılmı? ve ölçeğin nihai madde sayısı 28?e indirilmi?tir. Sonuç olarak, 20?si olumlu, 8?i olumsuz toplam 28 maddeye sahip ölçek; Duyarlılık Bilinci, Davranı? Bilinci, Sosyal Baskı ve Bilincin Yönlendirilmesi olmak üzere 4 boyuttan olu?maktadır. Yapılan analizler sonucunda, ölçeğin tüketici çevre bilinci algı düzeylerini belirlemek amacıyla kullanılabilecek, geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçek olduğu saptanmı?tır.
