    Crustacean biodiversity of Padina pavonia (L.) facies along the Aegean coasts of Turkey

    This research was carried out to determine the crustacean species associated with Padina pavonia facies distributed in the upper-infralittoral zone of the Aegean Sea coasts of Turkey and their bioecological features. The investigations were performed at depths of 2-5 m in 13 different stations chosen in the Aegean Sea in June and July, 1995. As a result of the study, a total of 3279 specimens belonging to 85 species were identified. Of these, Ampithoe ramondi was commonest with a dominance value of 21.47%, followed by Elasmopus pocillimanus with 13.94% and Ericthonius brasiliensis with 4.61%. © Tübi?tak.

    Decapod (crustacea) fauna of Saros Bay (northeastern Aegean Sea)

    The specific composition of decapod crustaceans collected in the sublittoral depths (8-135 m) of Saros Bay (northeastern Aegean Sea) is presented. A total of 40 species (17 Natantia, 1 Macrura Reptantia, 8 Anomura and 14 Brachyura) were recorded. The dominant taxon is Natantia, represented by a total of 17 species and an occurrence frequency of 42%. © Tübi?tak.

    Decapod curustaceans on the coast of Gökova Bay (The Southeastern Aegean Sea)

    Gökova Körfezi (güneydoğu Ege Denizi) kıyıları dekapod krustaseleri. Mevcut çalışma Gökova Körfezi (güneydoğu Ege Denizi) kıyılarında bulunan dekapod krustaseler üzerinedir. Alandaki deneysel bentoz örneklemeleri sırasında toplam 51 türe (17 Caridea, 11 Anomura, 1 Thalassinidea, ve 22 Brachyura) ait 358 birey toplanmıştır. Brachyuran yengeçler toplam 22 tür ve %43,13’lük oluşum frekansıyla alandaki dekapod topluluğunun baskın parçasıydı. Caridean karides, Lysmata seticaudata (Risso, 1816) %19,83’lük baskınlık değeriyle en dominant türdü.

    Gastropod shell species occupied by hermit crabs (Anomura: Decapoda) along the Turkish coast of the Aegean Sea

    This study aimed to describe the gastropod shell species inhabited by hermit crabs (Anomura: Decapoda) collected during investigations of the decapod fauna of the Turkish Aegean Sea coast. We documented 12 hermit crab species inhabiting 16 species of gastropod shells. The hermit crab, Pagurus anachoretus Risso, 1827, had the highest inhabitation frequency (IF), inhabiting 37.5% of all the samples collected. The gastropod shell most inhabited was Bittium latreillii (Payraudeau, 1826), which accounted for 66.7% of inhabited shells. © TÜBİTAK.

    Türkiye' nin Ege Denizi kıyılarındaki kayalık kommunitelerin peracarid Crustacea faunası

    Bu çalışmada Türkiye'nin Ege Denizi kıyıları kayalık kommunitelerinin krustase faunası incelenmiştir. 1995 ve 1996 yıllarının Haziran ve Temmuz aylarında Kuzey'den Güneye doğru seçilen 20 istasyonda 0-5 m derinliklerde örnekleme yapılmıştır. Krustase klasisine ait toplam 119 tür ve 3785 birey tespit edilmiştir. İstasyonlar genelinde en dominant tür 400 bireyle (%10.57) Isopod'lardan Sphaeroma serratum olup bunu sırasıyla 319 bireyle (%8.43) Decapod'lardan Pisidia bluteli, 279 bireyle (%7.29) Amphipod'lardan Ampithoe ramondi ve 158 bireyle yine Amphipod'lardan Elasmopus pociliimanus izlemektedir. Tespit edilen Amphipod türlerinden Maera hamigera ve Stenothoe gallensis lesepsiyan türlerdir.
