Öğe Amanita vidua: A new record for Turkish Amanita Section Phalloideae based on morphological and molecular data(Trakya Univ Balkan Yerlesesi Enstituler Binasi, 2024) Akata, Ilgaz; Kumru, Eda; Sahin, Ergin; Acar, Ismail; Kaya, ErtugrulIn the present study, fungal specimens collected from Ye & scedil;ildere village in U & scedil;ak province, T & uuml;rkiye were evaluated. The specimens underwent detailed examination through both morphological and DNA (nrITS rDNA region and TEF1a gene) sequence -based phylogenetic analysis. Based on the evaluation of micro- and macromorphological characteristics, and phylogenetic analyses, the specimen was identified as A. vidua Gasch, G. Moreno & P. A. Moreau. This identification marks A. vidua as a new record for the Turkish Amanita section Phalloideae. The study described this newly recorded species, including specific details such as its location, habitat observations, geographical coordinates, collection date, and photographs showcasing its macro and micromorphological features. Additionally, it also includes illustrations of some microscopic structures of the species. The study is further enriched with SEM images, offering a detailed view of the species characteristics, and the findings are briefly discussed.Öğe EVALUATION OF THE REGIONAL AIR QUALITY EFFECTS OF ISTANBUL CEBECI QUARRY AND CRUSHING-SIFTING FACILITIES IN TERMS OF PM10 AND SO2 CONCENTRATIONS(Stef92 Technology Ltd, 2014) Avsar, Edip; Kaya, Ertugrul; Akmirza, Ilker; Erdogan, Ezgi; Cubukcu, AbdullahThis paper aims to determine the air quality effects of 15 quarries with 108,000 tons per day capacity located in Istanbul Cebeci region. South, east and west site of the quarries are surrounded by settlement areas and residential premises that approximately population of 485,000 people. Due to the high capacity of the facilities and there are large settlements nearby, it is important to determine their air quality effects on the region. For this purpose, PM10 and SO2 measurements were made at a representative point and the results were evaluated between the dates of 27th July and 22nd October 2012; and 1st April and 16th July 2013. According to results, in terms of SO2 there was no determined effect on air quality. On the other hand, in terms of PM10 parameter, the results indicated that the measured levels are 3-5 times higher than the other points in Istanbul at the same timespan. During the 112 days of measurements, PM10 parameters have exceeded the European Union threshold value of 50 mu g/m(3) for 106 days, and exceeded the Air Quality Evaluation and Management Regulation's 2012 Turkey threshold value of 180 mu g/m(3) for 57 days. During the 76 days of measurements, PM10 pollution parameters have been exceeded the European Union threshold value of 50 mu g/m(3) for 74 days, and exceeded the Air Quality Evaluation and Management Regulation's 2013 Turkey threshold value of 140 mu g/m(3) for 60 days. These results indicate us, unsupervised operation of the facilities negatively effect on the region air quality and the health state of the people live in the region.Öğe Evaluation of the regional air quality effects of Istanbul Cebecİ quarry and crushing-sifting facilities in terms of PM10 and SO2 concentrations(International Multidisciplinary Scientific Geoconference, 2014) Avşar, Edip; Kaya, Ertugrul; Akmirza, İlker; Erdogan, Ezgi; Çubukçu, AbdullahThis paper aims to determine the air quality effects of 15 quarries with 108,000 tons per day capacity located in İstanbul Cebeci region. Method: Sedoanalgesia has been used to sedate patients for a variety of pediatric procedures in our department between 2007 and 2010. This is a retrospective review of 2720 pediatric patients given ketamine for sedation with midazolam premedication. Ketamine was given intravenously (1-2 mg/kg) together with atropine (0.02 mg/kg) and midazolam (0.1 mg/kg) + a local infiltration anesthetic 2 mg/kg 0.5% bupivacaine hydrochloride. Result: Median age of the patients included in the study was 5.76 +/- 2.12 (0-16 years). The main indications for ketamine include circumcision (69%), inguinal pathologies (inguinal hernia (17%), orchidopexy (2.68%), hydrocele (3.38%), hypospadias (1.94%), urethral fistula repair (0.33%), urethral dilatation (0.25%), and other conditions. All of our patients were discharged home well. In this regard, we have the largest group of patients ever given ketamine. Conclusion: Sedoanalgesia might be used as a quite effective method for daily surgical procedures in children.
