Bulgular ve Sonuç: Araştırmada yapılan istatistiksel analizler neticesinde araştırmaya dahil edilen sporcuların saldırganlık düzeyleri ile yaş, spor yapma yılı ve eğitim düzeyi arasında anlamlı bir ilişki görülürken, cinsiyet, ekonomik durum ve spor branşına göre anlamlı bir ilişki tespit edilmemiştir.Öğe Psychological health in male athletes: the effect of perceived coaching behaviors on male athletes' anger and aggression levels(MRE Press, 2024) Havadar, Tarkan; Kalkavan, Arslan; Özen, GökmenCoaches are the main people who have an impact on the mental and psychological performance of athletes as well as their physical performance. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of perceived coaching behaviors on the anger and aggression levels of male athletes. This study was conducted with 748 licensed male athletes who are over 18 years of age and participate in individual and team sports branches. In this study, the “Coaching Behavior Assessment Questionnaire” and the “Competitive Aggressiveness and Anger Scale” were used as data collection tools. The study results showed that athletes’ levels of evaluation of the coaching behaviors were high, while the levels of aggressiveness and anger in sports were low. It was determined that there is a negative lowlevel relationship between the athletes’ evaluation levels of the coaching behaviors and the aggressiveness and anger levels in sports and that the coach’s behaviors predict the anger and aggressiveness levels of the athletes by 9% and 6%, respectively. The results of this study show that the attitudes and behaviors of coaches can affect the emotional states of male athletes and have the potential to increase or decrease their anger and aggressiveness levels. Coaches who exhibit positive, supportive and modeling behaviors help create a healthy sports environment and help male athletes maintain emotional balance. © 2024 The Author(s). No studies have examined the relationship between strength values and field performance, especially in elite level male road cyclists. The aim of this study was to explore and the relationship between anthropometric values, strength endurance and climb time trial (TT) performance in elite male road cyclists. Methods: A total of 36 male road cyclists volunteered to participate (age: 21 f 2 year, height: 175 f 3 cm, weight: 70 f 4 kg; body fat ratio: 8 f 2%). The athletes underwent five visits: for demographic data collection, height and body weight measurements, body composition analysis, strength assessment (plank, push-up, pull-up, squat, barbell curl) and a TT test. Results: The results of multiple linear regression analysis revealed a statistically significant prediction formula, showing that plank duration and push-up repetitions could predict hill TT performance time (r = 0.66 and r(2) = 0.44 (t (2, 33) = 13.099, p <0.001) and average cycling speed at (r = 0.69 and r(2) = 0.48 levels (t (2, 33) = 9.149, p <0.001). However, no significant prediction formula was found for the anthropometric parameters (body weight, body fat ratio, muscle mass, bone mineral content, total body water, muscle mass ratio). Anthropometric values were not predictive of hill TT duration (t (2, 33) = 2.132, p = 0.070) and average speed (t (2, 33) = 1.519, p = 0.297). Conclusions: In conclusion, the duration of plank and push-up endurance movements are significantly related to hill time trial performance and these exercises serve as predictors for cycling performance.
