Questionnaires, designed especially for this study were used for data collection. The reliability (The Cronbach's Alpha) of the questionnaire was 0.82 and 0.76 for teachers and parents respectively. Data were analyzed by means of a frequency and percentage analysis. As a result, it has been indicated that teacher-parent meetings are carried out accordingly.Öğe Critical thinking tendencies among teacher candidates(Edam, 2008) Genc, Salih ZekiThe study aims to determine critical thinking tendencies among teacher candidates. 720 students from primary school teaching department (Primary School Teaching Programme, Science Teaching Programme and Prc-School Teaching Programme) form the sample of the study. When the gender and age distributions were investigated, 253 candidates arc males and 467 are females. All the teacher candidates aged between 17-22 years old. The reliability coefficient of the California Critical Thinking Tendency Scale is 0.88. The scale consists of 6-point Likert-type 51 items and is adapted to Turkish by Kokdemir (2003). The scale consists of 6 scales: Analyticity, Curiosity, Open-Mindedness, Self-Reliance, Search for Truth, and Systematicty. The data collected through the scale were analyzed by using t-tests and analysis of variance and interpreted in tables. As a result, it was found that the critical thinking tendency of teacher candidates differs in sub-scalcs on open-mindedness and curiosity with regards to gender, on analyticity and search for truth with regards to learning styles, on analyticity with regards to grades, and on analyticity, curiosity, and search for truth according to majors.Öğe Developing an attitude scale for university students who perceived scientists as social media phenomena during the 2020 and 2021 Covid-19 pandemic(Fac Teacher Education, 2022) Akcoeltekin, Alptuerk; Genc, Salih ZekiThe aim of this study was to develop a measurement tool that would determine university students' attitudes toward the phenomena of scientists on social media during the period of Covid-19 pandemic. Considering the overall reliability of the scale, Cronbach's alpha coefficient was calculated as 0.957 and test-retest reliability coefficient as 0.942. As a result of the confirmatory factor analysis, the fit index values were found to be x2/sd=1.998, RMSEA=0.070, S-RMR=0.062, IFI=0.97, NNFI=0.97, NFI=0.95, CFI=0.97, GFI=0.92, AGFI=0.88, PNFI=0.83 and PGFI=0.67. These values examined in relation to the model's adequacy were determined to be perfectly acceptable.Öğe Perceptions of Teachers for Interactive Whiteboard (The Sample of Canakkale City)(Pegem Akad Yayincilik Egitim Danismanlik Hizmetleri Tic Ltd Sti, 2014) Temelli, Dincer; Genc, Salih ZekiThe purpose of this study is to examine secondary school teachers' attitudes towards the Interactive Whiteboard (IWB). The existence of culturally distinct and different groups prompted the EU with its wealth of different languages and complex historical roots, to pay attention to the concepts of multiculturalism and multicultural society (Ireland, 2004; Vertovec and Wessendorf, 2004; Pennix and Spencer, 2008). Multiculturalism itself has become the central discussion of a political-ideological debate. In this debate, multiculturalism has been identified as a failed public policy since minorities remain outsiders and that they did not participate in the social and political life of the EU countries (Vertovec and Wessendorf, 2004). © 2011 VS Verlag für Sozialwissenschaften | Springer Fachmedien Wiesbaden GmbH.
