Öğe Adaptation of the Self-Report Aggression and Social Behavior Measure(Cyprus Mental Health Inst, 2022) Erzi, SedaThis study aims to examine psychometric properties of adapted version of the Self-Report Aggression and Social Behavior Measure (SRASBM) in different Turkish samples. In order to test the psychometric properties of the SRASBM two separate and independent samples are used in this study, namely community sample of adults (n = 781) and student sample (n = 446). For testing the construct validity of SRASBM, exploratory factor analysis is performed on community sample of adults in Study 1. Further, confirmatory factor analysis is performed on student sample in Study 2. Concerning the reliability of the scale, internal consistency and item-total correlation coefficients have been examined. Concurrent validity of the scale is supported by revealing the significant associations of Aggression, Victimization, Prosocial Behavior and Exclusivity subscales of SRASBM with impulsivity, emotional neglect and abuse, perspective taking, physical and verbal aggression, hostility and anger. Four-factor solution model reveals adequate fit for the student sample. Results of the study are discussed within the scope of relevant literature. Limitations and suggestions for future studies are mentioned.Öğe Understanding Schadenfreude through Personality Factors and Relational Aggression(2022) Erzi, SedaThe purpose of this study was to explain the mediator role of relational aggression between schadenfreude and personality traits through the path model. Dark traits, agreeableness and hostility as personality factors are thought to be related to relational aggression according to General Aggression Model. Thus, the model was proposed by the author which included direct and indirect effects of personality factors on relational aggression and schadenfreude. 306 adults completed an online survey comprising dark triad, Proactive/Reactive Relational Aggression, agreeable-ness, and hostility scales and author-generated measure of expressed schadenfreude. Path analysis revealed that schadenfreude was predicted by only reactive but not with proactive relational aggression. Moreover, schadenfreude was predicted by the dark triad indirectly through reactive relational aggression. The dark triad was also predicted by agreeableness and hostility. Although reactive and proactive relational aggression were predicted by agreeableness and hostility, only reactive agression had a mediator role between personality traits (agreeableness, dark triad, hostility) and schadenfreude. Findings and implications for the future research were discussed. Limitations of the current study were also mentioned.
