(Uşak Üniversitesi, 2022) Ata, Emrehan; Aktaş, Ayşenur; Erbaş, Yahya Han; Eryaman, Mustafa Yunus
This research was carried out to reveal the views of primary school teachers on the concept of "classroom teaching in the pandemic period" through metaphors. The participants of the research were selected by snowball sampling method, who still teach in the 2020-2021/2021-2022 academic year, after the pandemic of the 2019-2020 academic year was declared. Teachers voluntarily filled out the created online form. The research consists of 194 primary school teachers. The data of the research were obtained with the answers given to an online form containing the sentence "Being a classroom teacher during the pandemic process is like ……….. because ………………..”. In the research, a phenomenological design based on the qualitative research approach was used. İnitially, the online form was filled out by 224 teachers, and the information of 30 people that were irrelevant with no logical basis were removed. Appropriate forms were coded as SÖ1, SÖ2, SÖ3,…..,SÖ194 instead of real names. As a result of the content analysis, the metaphors collected from the participants were categorized according to their common features, and the metaphors were gathered under 10 conceptual categories. These categories were called “being a techno-teacher, being at risk from many aspects, being self-sacrificing, not being self-fulfilling, being indomitable, being important, being active and careful, being under uncertain responsibilities, being a guide and director, and being in a difficult and intense period”
