Öğe Opinions of Prosective Class Teachers About Their Proficiency in Using Alternative Assessment-Evaluation Instruments(Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart Üniversitesi, 2015) Şahin, Çavuş; Abalı Öztürk, YaseminThe purpose of this study is to reveal the opinions of prospective teachers about their proficiency in using alternative assessment and evaluation instruments in their future career. In this study, qualitative research method and in the data analysis, content analysis is used. Study group consists of 36 prospective class teachers (14 male, 22 female) who took the course “Assessment and Evaluation”. In data collection, interview technique is used. Candidates have reported that from alternative assessment instruments they saw themselves adequate in portfolio and project. Study group expressed that they are not sufficient in diagnostic tree and concept map. Their reason for being insufficient in diagnostic tree is having difficulty in preparing questions (that measures same gains) at the same degree and scoring them.Öğe The Effects of Alternative Assessment and Evaluation Methods on Academic Achievement, Persistence of Learning, Self-Effiacy Perception and Attitudes(Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart Üniversitesi, 2014) Abalı Öztürk, Yasemin; Şahin, ÇavuşThis study aims at determining the effects of alternative assessment and evaluation methods on academic achievement in mathematics, persistence of learning, self-efficacy perception and attitude. The present study used quasi-experimental design as a quantitative research model. The study group of the research was comprised of 4 groups of fifth grade students from state primary schools in Çanakkale. To collect data, the study made use of questionnaires which were developed by the researcher. The results indicate that alternative assessment and evaluation methods positively increased fifth grade students' math-related academic achievement, self-efficacy levels, attitudes and persistence of their learning when compared to traditional assessment and evaluation methods.
